The Miami ballpark is a fucking circus.....seriously im up for modern trends and advancements especially in a sport that refuses to get out of the 1970s but the Lime green walls, fish tanks, Dancers walking the players out on the field and the giant "thing" in centerfield was too much for me.......anyways Jose Reyes is going to have a great year, he really looked like he was on point last night. Josh Johnson start was actually pretty good despite the 9 hits. Lohse was lights out and got a well-deserved win last night.
On to Opening Day.......I have a shit load of leans but im trying to resist going nuts today since its really the first day of a actual card. I am leaning the Dodgers, 1st 5 under (LA/SD), Cubs, and Atlanta. Really like my first two plays today, i think that Verlander will just be Verlander and Detroit will win 5-2. I love the 3-4-5 part of the order for Detroit, I mean how can you not? Cabrera is the best hitter in baseball, Fielder will need to adjust but will still give the needed protection for Miguel. The interesting part is the 5 hole, i really think Young will have a beast of a year, he might be the only one of the three that will see a fastball all year! Boston is a interesting team that im paying close attention to start the year. Yes they have a shit load of talent, but after last season’s mess im curious to see where their heads are at, lot of changes in bean town. I really think Romero is going to have a big year for the Jays, area of concern with the Jays is their bullpen and everyone in the lineup not named Batista. Can these guys continue crushing the ball like they did in the Spring? I hope they do, it will make for a great AL East division race this year, especially with Rays having one of the best rotations in MLB. Cleveland, mmmmm yeah i don’t know. They have a decent lineup especially if Grady can play more than 50 games and Santana is a great young catcher and I like Masterson at the top, but that’s where the likes end for me. I am not a fan of their rotation or Bullpen, i think Ubaldo is done, i actually hope he wins his appeal so i can bet against him. I made a lot of money betting against that 1 year wonder last year.
Thank God Baseball is here, enjoy opening day
