rick, i know some people, like yourself, don't like things like obamacare and government mandates for sovereignty issues. but you also know that a lot of people, so-called conservative, who can't think that deeply, hate the idea of paying more even if poor people are the only ones who benefit. to many conservatives, sacrifice is important, but it's also just for other people.

no, i didn&#x27;t bet that game.  i can&#x27;t be happy when alabama wins but it would have been nice to see a decent game.this thread may be a little harsh and you know i don&#x27;t always believe what i post, but the underlying idea is that many of these so-called jesus lovers take positions that are completely contrary to what jesus believed in.  as for rick scott, sure the article may be wrong, who knows, but any article that say that guy is pulling some dishonest garbage gets the benefit of the doubt because that is one shady guy.  he also probably is the antichrist if we assume jesus wasn&#x27;t interested in money, worldly possessions and greed and was interested in helping the poor, sick and needy.

i agree, i don&#x27;t know for certain what jesus said or believed.  i never met him.  but here&#x27;s what i think and people can tell me if i wrong. jesus believed in helping the poor, the weak, the sick and the vulnerable first.  he was not interested in greed and personal gain and paying off the rich or special interests and he believed in treating all people equally whether they were a different race, gender, sexual orientation or whatever.  he didn&#x27;t care if people were different as long as they weren&#x27;t hurting anyone else.  he was basically the anti-rightwinger.  how far off am i?

and socialism has many meanings, none of which are consistent with foxnews talk i imagine, but if you define it as a system of production to satisfy the needs of every person for their use rather than for the infinite profit of a select and entitled few, then jesus was a socialist all day long. rightwingers hate socialism, because foxnews tells them to do so.

I do not know for sure, my guess is that the number is two digits and starts with a 1. Just a guess.

The idea of giving govt rule over health care is giving them license to steal from you and claim it is for the sick and poor. Truly the least of us by Jesus's teachings.

Charitable giving, giving of one's time and energies is much more Christ-like than giving our money to Caesar.
Taxes are a cop out for those that want to believe that they are doing something for the poor.

rick, from a government waste and government control standpoint, i largely agree but i'm not talking about people who viewing obamacare that way. few are. your average person is just repeating the same stupid talking points. i've had my share of obamacare discussions with various people. i think you are the only one who articulates this kind of government control argument with any specificity. for the rest, i might as well be arguing with rush limbaugh. those are the people i refer to. the majority.

additionally, you know politicians, least of all this clown in florida, have no interest in reducing the size of government. big government for the things they like, small government for the things they don't like.

I dont want to always come off as a con to your post but I have to say that there are big flaws with what you just said.Our own nature of greed and selfishness make all of what you posted irrelevant. If we wait around for charitable contributions and self realization to aid those in need, what state would this country be in?We would be like countries of old..a massive chasm between the wealthy and the not..those who have all might graciously toss a few coins to the peasants while the elderly and sick lie in the streets to die.Jesus also repeatedly made the point that we do NOT behave as you mentioned and it is a negative aspect of our nature that we have to overcome...we have never as a large society met the measure you suggest or that Christ admonished.Government is wasteful that is a fact but the approach you are taking is wrong and severely misguided off the back of inaccurate Biblical quotation.

maybe you can join the ClubDirt book group.  i have several hardcore christians on there and one hardcore mormon.  we love each otehr because we have a few things in common- exercising, races, sports, kids.  sometimes their religion comes up and i&#x27;ll do something like i do on here and post an article saying- look what this nutjob is up to? and we have a civilized discussion about it.  kind of like how captainjohn and sometimes getty and rick criticize me wqhen they think i&#x27;ve gone too far.anyway, i really don&#x27;t give a garbage what religion a person is.  but i don&#x27;t like stupidity and bigotry and discrimination and so on.   i don&#x27;t like the government but my work is dependent upon it for sure.  but it does give me some great insight that most people will never have.  most of the people i deal with at this pioint are white though. about 60% white, 25% black, 10% hispanic, 5% other.   most of them are christian too.

i know how much you like to point blame towards the church and organized religions adverse affects on our society, and i certainly think their line of sexual repression plays a role. the most violent societies are the most sexually repressed, and id wager all these young males that shoot up large swaths of fellow innocents have one thing in common, and thats they arent getting laid and were probably all virgins. think about your mood and temperment when youre on a cold streak, as compared to when youre getting sucked and fucked more times a day than you know what to do with.

what i dont understand is why these unic outcasts always go to a schoolyard, why not at least go out with a purpose and go to some state building and unleash your fury on the true criminal element of oppression? not that im advocating any violence, but still, it begs the question why arent there more mass shootings of the worst of what society has to offer?
