Good call by Mittens.

The woman is no longer in Politics.

Why should a "Fox News Contributor" be invited to the Convention?

Is Huckabee attending?

Non-story... she doesn't deserve an invite, she didn't receive an invite, sounds about right.

Very interesting.  Kid Rock, who backed Barack Obama in the 2008 election, this time has thrown his support behind fellow Michigan native Mitt Romney and will perform at the Republican Convention.

"I will not be attending this year’s convention, nor any Republican convention in the future, until the party focuses on a bigger, bolder, more confident future for the United States — a future based on problem solving, inclusiveness, and a willingness to address the trust deficit, which is every bit as corrosive as our fiscal and economic deficits…"

Huntsman is a solid dirtbag

Why would they want Palin there? Has she suddenly grown a brain?

If she didnt live a in State with a huge male population, that voted with their little head instead of their big head, she would have never become Governor in the first place.

She would have never made it to Governor in any other state in the country

Huntsman's commentary deserves praise, not ridicule.

Huntsman was the most bipartisan Republican candidate in the field and the most nuanced in his stances. Not a "dirtbag" at all.  No reported China shenanigans(business or otherwise) as far as I have read.

I dont understand why they did not invite her...

she energized the voting base in 2008 and she speaks the views of her voting base in the language that they understand...

Perhaps he personal promotion has made her more like beck/limbaugh/hannity where she exploited her voting base in how they think to gain power and fame...

but I would think that with her experience from 2008 that she would be a asset rather then a detriment to the party...  At least this time her and her family wouldnt be looting department stores and she would avoid any media outlet that is not Fox News serving her cupcake questions...

I also disagree on the Huntsman statement. I don't recall that he hid from his families investments, refused to provide tax returns, or talked tough on China trade.

Read up more on his family company and the funzies that have gone on over the years with good ole Huntsman Chemical

I dont see much difference at all between he and Mitt, both came from families of wealth, both have interesting backgrounds.

Dig a little...

I thought Cain was a fox news contributor and the self promoting narcissist had show entitled after himself...

and people were talking about seriously considering him for President with no real valid experience...

I felt like Palin was more experience then Cain and was probably a better candidate...

I mean if people seriously were backing Cain, to exclude Palin is just silly to me...

But so is conservatives back romney over Paul who has a long consistent history of real conservative views... while romney....

From what I have read, the biggest "scandal" involving the Huntsman group, in China, was a fine totaling about 30,000 yuan(about $5000) for failed ecotox lab tests in February, 2011. However, these fines were likely largely politically motivated due to Jon Huntsman's presence at a pro-democracy demonstration one week after resigning as Ambassador to China. This was greeted with consternation by the Chinese political elite, as they were fervent to prevent any sort of "Jasmine Revolution" and they chose to retaliate by fining(mildly) the Huntsman corporation, run by Jon's brother at the time.

Jon Huntsman also has had no formal role in the family corporation since 2001. Outsourcing has been an issue since the mid-2000's, but that cannot be directly ascribed to Jon's leadership, as he was not part of the company when the bulk of outsourcing occurred.

While Jon served as an executive from 1993-2001, yes, there have been more reports of dubious actions involving the Hunstman chemical group. Specifically, they were levied a $9 million fine by the state of Texas in 1999 for violating pollution standards near Odessa, Texas.

I still think there are significant and notable differences in Huntsman's and Romney's views and would certainly not lump them together as having similar attitudes, policies and personal beliefs.

In my estimation, Huntsman would be far more nuanced and inclusive in his approach, if he were still a candidate for President. Romney is not a candidate I can support, but Huntsman still leaves me intrigued.
