Anyone go see this over Thanksgiving? I am sure it pales in comparison to the original, but was thinking of going tonight to see it.

the whole premise of the movie is shot to hell now that there is no more Soviet Union

and btw, I find it interesting that when Americans use guerrilla war tactics to attack a military force that invaded them they are "Patriots" BUT when Vietnamese, Iraqis or Afghans do the same they are "Terrorists"?

also kind of odd that when the Afghans were fighting the Soviets they were the "Mujahideen Freedom Fighters" BUT now they are the "Taliban Murders"?

I get that there is no Soviet Union, and I would think China would be a better occupier.
Just wanted to know if anyone saw it over the holiday weekend.

I wasn't looking to get into a political discussion about US involvement in wars around the world.

I was born after Vietnam. As for Iraqis, I think we can agree that most of the population was happy to be rid of Sadaam.
And I know we trained the Afghans during the Soviet invasion.

I didn't even need to watch Charlie Wilson's War to my history there!

The Swaze would turn over in his grave if I saw this movie.

Think about it. They got some Australian asss-hole with a terrible American accent playing the role of the Swaze.

"This is our home" in the most terrible American accent ever.

Just turn in your man card if you see this movie.
