Just when I thought this show couldn't possibly get any dumber, they go and have a season premier like this....

....and totally redeem themselves!!!

Yeah, I was expecting sudden amnesia on Deb's part or some lame garbage.
And had it gone that way I'd stop watching.

While I did not expect sudden amnesia for Deb I was expecting them to really draw out her putting 2 and 2 together.

I'm glad they wasted no time with that.

Lets just hope this show doesn't end with some disgusting incest crap  like Bonnie and Clyde garbage with Deb helping Dexter and telling him she loves him and he will realize that she is the only one that can see the "TRUE Dexter" and love him for who he REALLY is.(Stepsister, I know but still)..... I also hope that Dexter doesn't sacrifice himself for Deb and his kid at the end of the show.......

I mean dexter is one of the executive producers now so and has been for some time. I can't imagine he lets this show end of a note that is not satisfying or intriguing or cliche...

Terrible show..

Whats with the camera angles and colors and Michael Halls wacky hair coloring?

A great show keeps getting worse and worse and worse..

So Deb and Dex are going to be co-killers and who knows what else, Laguerta is going to be the chaser and that goofball from the crime lab, blah blah blah

I am glad this is the last season..its was a big flat snoozer.

Huh?

The 2nd to last season has barely gotten underway..  There;s going to be another season after this.....

Also its way too early to tell whats going to happen and the ending to this season and then the final season could be incredible but it could also be pathetic.

I think the show has gone a little downhill after season 2 even though the ending to Doakes was not believable at all there's definitely a chance for the executive producer Michael C Hall to end this show on an interesting note.

Nonetheless... Its' still won ton of Emmys and is HIGHLY ENTERTAINING.

Your opinion is way too cynical...

Hall’s “wacky hair coloring”?

Oh yeah, that totally ruined the show for me too.

I thought this year was the last..

And I rate the current show compared to the first two seasons when the author was involved..now its just hack hollywood writers and it shows.

I've watched every single episode since it started, and the last season and a half have been subpar and the first episode was very uneventful..

The whole "I have to kill now" crap, whereas in the past he was more calculated and controlled..he is much more sloppy and the plot lines are obvious..last season the lab tech being a bad guy was obvious etc etc. I think they are running out of interesting things for the characters to do.. Laguerta marrying and divorcing, the drinking issues with that other cop..it seems that they are out of creative and interesting plot lines and are now just going full bore killing as the main plot.

I was bothered with the filming this year, its like they had some orange lens the whole show..

Seasons 5 and 6 were just filler to get us to seasons 7 and 8.

Also seasons 1 and 2 being better than the later seasons is not something limited to Dexter.  That’s the case for most tv shows.

It could have been one of the best shows ever if they had known when to end it. 8 seasons are just too many.
I think Breaking Bad's 5 seasons have held a high standard through out. And they know when to end it, 3 of Dexter's seasons have been a complete waste of time.

Anyway, watching it, want to know how it ends of course.

Wall the first episode was very entertaining.  You can't compare it to the first two seasons, not fair.

I honestly thought the part where she had all the slides n garbage that it was a dream sequence, but was a good first episode. One thing that kinda got me was her asking if he was a serial killer after asking if he killed those people. I just thought it seemed to not be the next question most would ask. I would think why did you kill all of them, how could you or something. But not are you a serial killer. It didn't bother me enough to ruin it. Still a great show.

I thought the 2nd episode was great (especially the scenes with Dexter and Deb).

Fans have been waiting for them to have that type of conversation for about 7 years.

This show has gone down the toilet.  Actually, you could make the argument that it went down the toilet a few seasons ago.

As another poster mentioned above me, this is what happens when you stretch a television storyline for far to long.  You test a viewers patience.  You tease them enough, as the writers have done over the years, and people just won't/don't give a garbage when the good stuff actually happens.

That being said, I'm too invested in the show to just stop watching it after six seasons.

guy!

I’m going to have to disagree in this case.

Most fans agree that season 6 was easily the worst season.  Yet the cliff hanger from season 6 lead to the highest rated season premier in the show’s 7 year history.

I'm intrigued as to how the show will conclude. While I feel it impossible for those responsible to maintain the quality of seasons 1 and 2 I believe the following seasons have ranged from fair to excellent.

Who could forget Trinity and Dexter's wife in the bath. Or the conclusion to season 6.

Look forward to every episode down here in Australia.

All the best.

Was not a very big fan of last season. This season so far is very good for me. Keep it coming.
