While the final scoreline flatters England, anyone who watched the match knew that Scotland was not embarrassed. England was only up 8 at the Half at home a supposedly vastly superior side.
It was 31-18 when Scotland boffo'ed up a sure breakaway try by their #8 picking up, then dropping senselessly forward, a loose ball behind the entire English defence. That would have made it 31-25 with roughly 10 to go.
While Scotland was held try-less for the entire 6N last year, they have already put up two this year.....and versus England at Twickers nonetheless. Scotland's first try, and end-to-end romp, really exposed the English defence, who suffered from jitters, nerves, and loose execution all night.
This match has done nothing to stray me away from my prediction that England's Grand Slam ambitions will come to an end in Dublin, and even possibly their 6N ambitions for this year as well.

#10 Posted: 2/3/2013 12:27:19 AM My prediction from the beginning was that Ireland gets up on England, but will lose to France. England will beat the French. Will all come down to points.
Ireland and France the same odds now to win the tournament. |

Only one thing wrong.
If you told me England wouldn't score a try against Ireland, I'd bet Ireland with a fistful. Was a stubborn match but England's head was harder by two kicks of the ball. Not overwhelming, but still got the job done.
Grand Slam is theirs to lose now. |

#15 Posted: 2/22/2013 10:16:30 PM France are better than their results suggest but I was expecting more than a try start for the English so -7 has to be a solid bet at home, England will want to win decisively against the frogs |

#17 Posted: 2/24/2013 8:02:09 PM Great job by England. Man, I had this year's 6Nations all wrong. I'm usually high on England and Scotland every year and the year I give up on them is the year they become dominant. Hell, last year I bet England for the Slam!
I was a year too soon on both England and Scotland.

#18 Posted: 3/15/2013 10:51:15 PM so onto the final round of matches, England have to win at the Millenium stadium to win the grand slam.
every grand slam winner has a bad day at the office and england did this last time against the Azzuri.
This wont be a pretty match to watch, top level union matches rarely are but I like England to cover the 2 points and win with a little to spare here

#20 Posted: 3/17/2013 7:16:08 AM A stunning victory by the Welsh to secure back to back 6 Nations titles. This after they came off a 7 (?) match losing streak and losing their first game to Ireland
