As for Saturday, the Preakness favorite will be a very short price, yet the most likely winner - hence no value. I have no particular insights on the remainder of the field. Logical exactas or trifectas will not return enough to interest me. Rather than forcing exotic wagers just to cash a ticket, seek value in the undercard races - look for quality horses with quality connections at a square price.

There is no shame in passing races - nobody will be offended if you do, and at the end of the year, your wallet will thank you.
