Hello All! For Saturday, the storm has cleared out of the New York area and Aqueduct should be rolling once again.
Here are the tracks and races on tap for Slew:
Aqueduct - 6,8,9
Gulfstream - 1,2,3,5,9,10,11
Santa Anita - 4,6,7,8
Tampa - 1,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12
Fairgrounds - 8,9
Parx - 9
As you can see, there are many races to choose from. Something here
will spark some interest for you so grab the file and get to work.
Today's Key Horse
Starsilhouette showed why she is a cash machine in these starter races. The beautiful dappled grey mare by Orientate was effectively boxed in for most of the race, then checked and shuffled to the back
of the pack around the far turn. Once the home stretch opened up though,
she made a hasty getaway down the center of the course and scored as the favorite.
For Saturday, we have two Key Horses running at Tampa.
Noble Tune - TAM ( 5) SAR 09/03/12 # 1
Let It Rock - TAM (11) 12/08/12 # 7
Noble Tune (
Unbridled's Song - Serena's Cat, by Storm Cat)
has run 3 times. His inaugural race was up at the Spa and that is when
he made Slew's horses to watch list. From my 9/7/2012 blog entry:
Race
# 1 on 9/3 was a MSW for 2 yr. old males at the distance of 1 1/16th
miles and was NOT a FHF fast race. But races for maiden 2 yr. old's are
where you find your future investments, and Saratoga is the place to find the best two yr. old's. From that race, Noble Tune stands out. After a pedantic pace the last quarter was run in a quick 23.22 and he personally cut the last 16th in a sizzling 5.65 on his way to the wire after splitting horses in deep stretch. This son of Unbridled’s Song running for the amazing Chad Brown will need to be reckoned with down the road.
And that road leads no doubt, to Belmont, Keeneland and Gulfstream Park.
Forgive me. I failed to mention Santa Anita and the Breeders Cup. How could I have been so short sighted?
After his maiden win, he took the Grade III Pilgrim Stakes at Belmont
Park, then ran a cool second to Euro-invader George Vancouver at Santa
Anita in the BC Juv. Turf. We find him now in a 30K allowance race,
clearly a leg stretcher.
At 6-5 on the ML I might take him if he holds. If not he might be a pass unless you can link him in a pick.
Let It Rock won for us last out and paid $14.60. On this card
he is 20-1 on the ML. I don't have the PP's on this one but Mr. Mott has
Al Khali running here and I would respect that. Maybe underneath if he looks competitive?
I'm working and will miss the action. While I'm doing that...you will be doing this.
So enjoy the Saturday racing. And as always...good luck and good 'capping!
