You're going to need luck in this one. |

Fairly high considering the starting pitching is made up of two 3's, one 4 and two 5's. Unless these guys have miracle years, they ain't going to sniff that number. |

i was thinkin the same thing
the thing is they score a lot of runs
but even last year they lost a lot games where they scored 5 or more |

The Reds will be a preseason darling for just about anybody wanting to make a splash for the cash in the NL Central...
Their pitching is not up to par, espically playing @ their friendly confines of Great American Park where the balls fly in the Summer Time...
They got the bats, sure, but not the pitching. Most expect a big season from the Reds... not me, though. Average year.......
That being said - I think they are *UNDER 86.5* for the year. |

#11 Posted: 3/2/2012 2:32:37 PM lastly - I just saw that the MLB has extended their playoff teams from 8, to 10...
I think that's awful.
3 division champs, 1 wild card - that's all you need. |

It actually ain't all that bad - just 1 more team from each league. I don't know what I was thinking... |

#15 Posted: 3/2/2012 2:40:09 PM I think that 86.5 number has to do more with the perception of a weakening division, than the Reds themselves.
I guess the question to ask ourselves is the departure of big names like Fielder and Pujols really worth 8 wins to the Reds? |

#16 Posted: 3/2/2012 2:40:22 PM i was kinda pissed when they gave up Yonder Alonso for Mat Latos...(among others)
Yonder has a ton of potential
they needed the pitching adjustment though
I love having Cueto,Latos,Leake, and Arroyo
hopefully Chapman learned some control in the offseason
that would make a big difference
Nick Masset has been killing us for years
Ondrusek sucked a few big ones last year.
Arrendondo, Lecure, and Bill Bray are some notables
it's definitely gonna be a tough year for the redlegs, I'm hoping for the best but preparing for the worst |

#18 Posted: 3/2/2012 2:44:15 PM I don't know half those names.
Even if value is present in the Reds win total, do you want to have money tied up for that long, or more importantly... a part of you will be rooting for them to lose every game you watch. |
