he takes the cake.  Use your own eyes.  This guy is being protected and is extremely limited.

If they're serious about making Rigondeux vs Donaire, this fight is a mismatch and Rigo will dispose of him.  Bottom line.  So save your money up and wait for this fight.

you are actually 100 percent wrong, he will stop mares late in his next fight as mares is too aggressive for the best counterpuncher in the game, then we will see this fight that you so often speak of....oh and in that one nonito wins too....being protected, if you think he is protected than you simply no nothing, I actuall think you just say the craziest garbage that you can think of to get a rise out of other people on this site as you can't possible be serious,  let me guess andre ward is a bum and wladimir klitschko is nothing as well right?

here he is. the donair nuthugger who claims he's the best counter puncher he's ever seen.

you don't know boxing at all.  If the RIgo vs Donaire fight gets made, I want to see you put money on Donaire.  I'm going to laugh in your face after Rigo outclasses him.

jerseyboy, you are the fool of this website, I think everyone would agree, I know nothing about boxing, funny as it's my profession, but hey you bet rigondeaux, I will bet nonito ( after nonito beats mares that is) and we will see who is right and I never said nonito was the greatest counterpuncher that I have ever seen,  but he is right up their with the best of the best in terms of the counter, guys like salvador sanchez, roy jones, charley burley just to name a few. he fits right in with those guys if you know what your looking at and clearly you do not.

lmao.  you have no iea what you're saying.  vazquez jr was lighting hp donaire with a basic jab and a right.  vazque jr has no amt exp and was still able to land at will on donaire.  yet he's one of the best counter punchers you've ever seen?

what do you think rigoneux will do to donaire if vazqwuez jr was tagging him all fight?  rigondeux is a top 5 p4p fighter and will be very hard for anyone to beat him till I say 130 lbs.

I don't even know why we feed the troll.

If anyone is overrated its Rigo. He's got what 10 fights? and is aging as we speak. Did you not see him get cracked by lesser fighters?

Show me one fighter that has brutally stopped Darchinyan, Montiel, Nishioka, and Arce.

and people like to points out that he is bigger than his opponents..we have weight classes and if he can make it then so be it. BTW I believe ARce weighed more on fight night.

Donaire has speed, power, and boxing ability.

He is far from overrated.

STOP FEEDING THE TROLL GUYS

I thought Donaire was going to hurt Arce bad. Anyway, Mares and Donaire..rock em sock em.,..donaire in a devastating KO. He will be coming to Nonito and that will make it more brutal...Can't wait...

You're such a troll.  You have been brainwashed by the media and by Top Rank.  It's amazing how mouch influence the media can have on a fight fans perspetion of a fighter.

Donaire fought that japanese guy AFTER a year long layoff after he looked like complete garbage vs a SHOT marquez.

Donaire fought Arce who doesn't hold a belt, who's old and small, and who just got beat by a puerto rican but weasled his way out of the fight by claiming he got hit illegaly

Donaire fought Arce insteda of the WBA champ Rigondeaux.

Donaire is a protected boxer.  Bottom line.  You;'re delusional if he's P4P material.

It's extremely unlikely that the fight will ever be made because Nonito is promoted by Top Rank and Mares by Golden Boy and they refuse to do business with each other.  Reason number 807 MMA is eating boxing's lunch.

I'm going to be completely honest I haven't seen much of Mares I need to watch more of him.  From what I've seen he has no defense and is your typical come foward fighter who to land a bunch needs to eat a punch.  that favors donaire and I would pick him by KO.

ther'es a reason they want Mares and not Rigo.

and anyone who thinks Donaire isn't protected is delusional.

this fight will 100 percent happen as both fighters said they want it,  when fights like this do not happen it's only because you have a person riding fighter like say pacquiao who never calls anyone out and simply says "I am the fighter I fight and my promotor will decieded who I fight" fighters like this are simply a chess peice in the promotors game,   when both fighters openly say they want it to happen,  it will, I am 100 percent confident of this..it is very rare that it does not happen in situations like this,   oh and for the record mma is not even close to boxing, not yet.. it simply has much better marketing, take a look at what these mma guys are getting paid, the top guys get around 400,000 per fight,  in boxing the top guys regularly make 10  times more than this, so right now it's not close,  in 20 years things may change, but right now comparing mma to boxing is like comparing rugby to the NFL, it's really not even close, don't  let the media twist the garbage around on ya.

I also wrote that pacquiao was a  D**K riding fighter( to the promotor) at the begining of the post 15 but it was censored out by the site

For the record, I'd have to re-watch their recent fights before making a real predication, but I'd favor Donaire over both Mares and Rigo.

I hope you're right about everything, TSP. All I know about Top Rank and GBP is what I read, like this article about mares/donaire:

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1439212-nonito-donaire-vs-abner-mares-yet-another-great-fight-promoters-have-stalled

And it doesn't make me optimistic.  I didn't really understand how bad it was until pretty recently. Here's one about Mares/Donaire as well as several other fights they refuse to make:

http://www.queensberry-rules.com/2012-articles/july/some-fights-were-not-getting-because-of-the-top-rank-golden-boy-feud.html

As for Boxing vs. MMA, I like MMA but I am a much bigger fan of boxing so I want it to do well. I think it still has a long future among latinos and in Europe and parts of Asia. But every indication is that it's losing ground constantly. As you said, MMA is way better marketed and has a much stronger media presence in the US. Bookies take action on far more MMA fights. Even in Vegas for a nationally televised fight like Adamek/Cunningham, you'll be lucky if the books take action 24 hours before the fight, where there's always several MMA bets available. Ask some random guy on a poker table who Nonito Donaire is, and about 1/10 will know. Probably 8 or 9 in 10 know who GSP is.  And the younger they are, the more they'll skew to MMA.  That doesn't bode well for the future of the sport.

Wish it weren't so, but it is. Not hard to figure out why, either. What are we talking about here the last couple days? A) A blatant robbery in a nationally televised fight. B) How the most exciting match up might not happen even though both fighters want it. If you don't have a passion for one sport over the other, you'd be foolish to chose to follow boxing over MMA. Although, I think boxing is easier to predict, so that helps.

There are also way more fight cards in MMA...better more honest judging...and they bring the fighters together(MMA) that really should be fighting each other. If I watch mma then I watch it kinda attitude. I just like boxing. I always have. I really don't think the amount of money the fighters get paid has anything to do with the popularity. MMA is way more popular. Also, the money your talking about is made by very few fighters(4million) thats when and if the fights can be made. The boxing judging alone has become scarey. Anytime your watching a fight these days your always wondering if your gonna get a fair shake. MMA is not like that at all.

Maybe JerseyBoy is right.  I don't see how, but there were people swearing Douglas couldn't beat Tyson.
He may not be a fool at all.
JerseyBoy, make your case.  Obviously we want to hear something that makes sense.  You started this, so here's your chance.
Thrill us with your argument.
