There are many companies out there offering you presale passwords to events but they all charge you. People on Ebay sell passwords for $9.99 each.... Its B.S.
I set up a Facebook page 2 days ago to give out FREE Presale Passwords to almost any Concert/Event/Broadway show in Any city.

As for the guy you met, if he has decent financial backing to build a healthy pipeline of 2-3 months of tickets he can surely make 1k a week.
Who's to say someone doesn't have 2-3 laptops hooked up with different IP addressees while opening up 2-3 browsers shooting for 4-8 solid seats at a one direction or andrea bocielli...That person could prob earn 8k just on those 2 concerts.

Is it all by feel alone or is it predictable based of info. available?

Facebook? Never registered w/ them. If I'm hard to locate it's O.K. With me.
There are ticket sites like Ticketnews.com that kinda give you a heads up about the popular events. Also you just know who's up-incoming just by who's playing on the radio 24/7 like
Macklemore, Mumford N sons, The Lumineers...
I've made many mistakes along the way...but you live and learn.
Things I do now that I didn't do 5 years ago.
- I always to check out the seating capacity of the event. supply and demand.
- I track certain performers like Theresa Caputo. 2 years ago I had no clue who she was but her tickets were through the roof...I signed up at her website to be reminded when she'll be touring again so when she does i'll be ready...Caputo is actually touring now.
- I have teenage and college kids in the family. I ask them whats hot. The college girl tells me anything at governors island, electric daisy, Kaskade....Events i've never heard of but the kids know.
20k is fine to start with. You don't need to go crazy with every show..just pickup 2 tickets here and there. and reinvest your profits.

Picked up a handful of beyonce tix for her late July DC show in what's described as one of the best places to sit. That was months ago but I'm still ecstatic about it. Best of luck going forward.

Ok guys.....Quick lesson here on buying concert tickets for yourself.
Tonight I attended Bruno Mars at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
When you go to a concert, they always have a B.S. act open that most of the time opens and the main act comes on 90 mins into the show,
Tonight the show started at 8:00pm and Mr Mars...(who was fantastic) came out around 9:25 ish.
Tickets on stubhub are sold until 8:00pm sharp. I was watching the prices the past 48 hours, anything on the floor was $300+ Lower level seats going for $225-$1000 depending on how close to the stage.
Being that I can get to the Barclays center in 30-45 mins I waited and waited...I bought my tickets at 7:54pm, printed them out and was sitting in my seat at 9:00pm...The opening act had just ended and they were changing the stage.
I ended up scoring Section 2 (center floor seats) 16th row from stage for $110 each including fees and shipping.....
The moral of the story is, these same seats and similar were $699 each at 11am this morning.
It pays to wait. The shows very rarely even totally sell out.
And this is New York which is usually higher avg ticket pricing.
Our friends reading this post in smaller cities can expect to get better deals....
Do this. Pick 1 concert, any concert and follow the prices up until the show starts. don't get scared when you only see 34 tickets left with 30 mins to go....Just follow the pricing and watch the bottom fall out.

I liked the Facebook page and am interested in this business as kind of a family project. I have children ages 15, 17, and 22. They are all into music and two are big sports fans. My thought is Dad could provide some seed money while the two can make some pocket money while in college and the other in H.S. and maybe get to see some of their favorites in concert for a reasonable price. I will send a friend request to you'll and hope you'll will accept so we can discuss experiences.
