Just saw this... shortly after midnight a normal kid from a small town in Alabama was naked (and unarmed), ranting, and acting completely out of his mind. He charged the officer several times and was verbally challenging him. The officer shot and killed him.
This happened at the University of South Alabama. He was a freshman there. They don't know yet if drugs or alcohol were in his system.
I haven't yet heard an explanation on the man in PA and I'm really starting to wonder why. Will we here an explanation on this? Supposedly there is video of this incident.
The cannibal in Miami allegedly only had cannabis in his system. Cannabis obviously doesn't make you eat people. So what's the deal? Why are people stripping off their clothes and acting out of their minds and eating people? Seriously... WTF?
Would it be possible to get some answers from somebody? Some educated guesses at least?

I really don't understand people. Police shoot to STOP.. they do not shoot to kill.. They are trained. If anyone here has every gone to a shooting range they would know that you when you shoot paper targets, you shoot center mass..
This isn't TV where you are shooting knifes and guns out of peoples hands.
The people here complaining about cops, are probably the same ones who if they are out with their buddies and some one challenges them or bumps into a friend get all tough-guy fighting some dude 4 on 1.
Here is a nickels worth of free advice. When a cop has his gun drawn on you, and tells you stop or don't move or get down. Don't start digging into your ass crack because you have an itch!

Why do you assume the suspect has full capacity of his actions? He can be mentally unbalanced or under the influence of drugs (legal or illegal it makes no difference). A naked suspect is hiding no weapons.

press release just said he had attented a music festival and had taken LSD. He suppsoedly assaulted two people there and had tried to bite a woman's arm.

If I'm the Cop, I shoot... I have NO idea if this Crazy Naked man just;
1) killed someone and wants to kill me
2) is on some crazy drugs and won't feel anything I'm about to use
a) Hands
b)pepper spray
c) Night Stick
3) Maybe he was just a young stupid punk, and meant no harm
However,I'm not playing with this guy to see how far it will escalate... I'd rather get judged by 12 than carried by 6....
*** Now,I'm not saying what went down is Justified. I think we need to see more details***

I can't understand why the campus police wouldn't have their officers armed with tasers or pepper spray for non-lethal control. According to the latest article, the officer's only means of protection was his pistol. That's a problem on a college campus.

Ridiculous and Getty is right, no spray or taser? Wtf. How bout tagging him with a night stick?
Cops are trained to shoot for the kill. Take your index finger and make a circle from your nose to your upper rib cage. That is standard police officer major kill zone. They're all trained to aim at the area.

NEVER SAID I AGREE WITH WHAT HE DID. I JUST SAID IF A COP SHOOTS HIS GUN THEY ARE TRAINED TO SHOOT TO KILL.
But you did say, "if a cop HAS to shoot his gun" this cop clearly did not have to shoot his gun. He used deadly force in a situation where he didn't have to. You implied that he did when you said, "if a cop HAS to shoot his gun". I was trained to use deadly force in the Army, but I didn't go around looking for reasons to use it. This cop had many options, but chose to use deadly force instead of any of the available options in that situation. This cop is murderer of a boy he should have been trying to protect.

If you believe this story, I have a Joe Montana rookie card to sell to you for $50,000. It's worth $500,000.
LSD doesn't make you do this type of thing. It never has. Consider the millions perhaps billions of people that have tripped on LSD... and one time it makes someone bite a stranger's arm, then later he acts live a raving lunatic, takes off his clothes, and then confronts an armed cop and tries to attack him?
Sorry man... I'm not buying that. That is a fabricated story. It's a lie. I don't know why they're making shit up, and I don't know who "they" are, but this is a lie.

Something else I thought was strange... I obviously don't know the dude, but when they showed pics of him on CNN he looked like the type that wouldn't do this. I mean, picture McFly in Back to the Future. He looked like that. His family and everybody that knows him even said they are shocked that he did this and that it just wasn't something he would do.
Some really crazy shit has been happening all over the U.S. with people losing it like we've never seen before and I think there's something that we don't know. There might be something going on that nobody knows about.

I have heard rumor that "bath salts' were involved...
Still a lot of questions with few answers, but this is what I have heard from a couple of people...
Also- earlier this year there was another shooting (visitors) so the police may have been a bit more on edge-
A bad situation regardles-
Also- have heard/read that the young man was a high school wrestler and supposedly took an aggressive stance toward the policeman- not sure exactly how that matters- but was noted in one report I read-
I also wonder what kind of training campus police experience (vs. local, county, or state law enforcement)......

He is also a box.
Exactly. Military trains shooters way the fock beyond cop camp.
Shouldn't cops that carry guns and make life or death decisions be required to present a 4 year college degree???
I just don't get it anymore. Feds require at least a 3.5 gpa and excellent performance from university. Somebody explain it.

Dock, what do you think based upon what you know. Which is 100% more than anybody in here.
An agressive wrestling stance an approach might prompt a police officer to to warn 3x and then fire from what you're saying - I dunno.

Sounds like he was a pretty normal kid that was strung out on something- bath salts would make more sense I think...
For some reason he felt compelled to go to campus police station and strip- then don't really know what happened...but apparently drew the policeman out of the building and a confrontation occurred...
Sounds like an overreaction by the policeman...probably out of confusion and likely fear...
Just my interpretation of all the things I've heard...
Would still like to know the policeman's background and training.....I mean- if you're inside and the kid is outside and all you have is a pistol- a number of options seem available...
But again- details are few at this point...
Just tragic really- obviously for the kid- but IMO for the policeman too....
