#8 Posted: 10/13/2012 12:24:39 AM He was offered a hefty sum from the Cards team, b/c they didn't sign him they are able to survive and pick up Beltran and others...
Anyway, its funny how high priced players leave great situations...St.Louis LOVED Pujols and he was meant to be there...

im sure he wouldve love to stay in st. louis but what u fail to realise is that st. louis is an NL team. he wont be able to play as long playing everyday. so by going to the angels an AL team he is able to dh without the wear and tear. and if it was about the money then he wouldve signed with the marlins since they offered him more but guess what they are an NL team. |

#13 Posted: 10/13/2012 2:36:30 AM Pujols is wearing a crown of thorns right now. Upstaged by triple crown Cabrera as best hitter in the game, and players like Freese and Beltran are more clutch in post-season than he ever was. |

#14 Posted: 10/13/2012 2:42:51 AM darn Albert, sorry sack of garbage, he is already on the decline. He made the worst decision of his life. St. Louis would of built statues of him on every city block...
hope he enjoys never seeing the playoffs again... |

Don't know about that Albert. has been great in the post season his whole career. .330 batting average career postseason and .353 last year. Heck he hit .414 with 6HR's in the post season the year they lost to the Red Sox in the Series. At least look at some stats before bashing Albert. He gave the Cards 2 titles. Freese did it one year that doesn't make him more clutch than Albert. Beltran has been awesome in post season for awhile though

#18 Posted: 10/13/2012 2:57:33 AM Guys are in here bashing Pujols in the post season like he was A-Rod or something. Guy has had an unbelievable career reg season and post season give him some credit. I'd take the money and move to L.A. too.

Have to correct myself Beltran is only in his 3rd post season so he has some catching up to do also. But his BA is great so far.

#20 Posted: 10/13/2012 3:08:14 AM I don't see how signing that deal is the worst decision of Pujols life? If he cares about statues he can pay to have them built. |

#21 Posted: 10/13/2012 3:23:07 AM On paper, the Angels are a better team than the cardinals, pujols can not account for mike scioscia's sociapathic managing that somehow kept that team out of the playoffs. |

#23 Posted: 10/13/2012 3:40:04 AM The Cards offered dude over 200 million. That shoulda been enough to stay in STL. He got and extra 40-50 mill, which is alot but come on. You can live like a King for 200 mill plus what he already made on previous contracts. Greed wasnt good in this case. I am not a Cards fan either ( unless i got green on them). |

So you think 40-50 extra mill is nothing to Albert
40-50 mil is just that. that's a lot of dough to leave on the table. He made the right choice. He earned his two rings in St. Louis nothing wrong with moving on.
