That means that his salary counts against the cap, but he won't get paid. - Teams like Phoenix and Nashville would find this attractive because it means that they can reach the cap floor (the minimum salary that all teams have to pay their players) without actually paying the guy. - Bettman would look the other way on this clear cap circumvention because he refuses to admit that these teams are in trouble and should be moved to Canada.

They would probably want to play for a Canadian team if that were the case. Canada SHOULD get 1st crack at any team that is considering relocation... and Las Vegas 2nd.

They had basketball All Star game a few years ago and the animals we're all here from Los Angeles... Crime was up a thousand percent.. Scumbags... Hockey would be better but if team starts losing, it will fail miserably.. Very fickle citizenry are about as predictable as the weather... They tried building arena with tax dollars and it won't fly with the people.. Nobody wants it. People pay for arena and owners make the profits if there are any. Vegas economics.

Legend Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 33447 Location: Nevada	#5 Posted: 6/24/2012 1:48:52 AM hockey doesn't work in Las Vegas. we had the Thunder in the old IHL and they were very competetive BUT couldn't draw AND when the league folded they were one of the teams that were NOT picked up by the AHL. Oscar Goodman wants an NBA franchise. I think they would do at least as good as Sacramento. the NBA summer development league draws really well at UNLV's Cox Pavilion. if anything is going to succeed in Las Vegas it's baskets

More people come for concerts than pro sports.... The Thunder do o.k. For second grade hockey as long as they continue winning... They go far in the playoffs a few years now.. Although next year they may lose a few of their stars...

They go far in the playoffs a few years now.. Although next year they may lose a few of their stars... the Las Vegas Thunder AND the IHL are "long gone history". we have the Wranglers (what a lame name) of the ECHL and it's NOT very good hockey. would rather have a WHL major juniors team btw, with the current economy here there is NO way the Las Vegas taxpayers would stand for paying for a new Arena
