#3 Posted: 5/27/2011 12:49:52 PM Never heard of OFWGKTA until my daughter mentioned them to me a few weeks ago, we like to exchange our current musical preferences. I get to keep up with the new and she can experience the old.
One of her friends is dating one of them.
I am not a huge fan of rap so....

#4 Posted: 5/27/2011 12:58:00 PM yes they are super young... i think the youngest is like 17... they are an interesting group to say the least... very conciously extreme and vulgar, but they are actually really good rappers... nice to see some creativity and innovation in the rap world...

#9 Posted: 7/30/2011 3:12:21 PM Delpo, While J. Cole is pretty good, these guys are doing basically the exact opposite of each other... Only thing in common is they rap... So to say one owns the other or what not is pointless because they are apples and oranges... Just watch the videos you posted then watch that Yonkers video The Gull posted and you might see what i mean...

#10 Posted: 7/30/2011 3:26:09 PM meant to link Kendrick Lamar... If anything he is comparable to J. Cole and i believe J. Cole has produced a track or two of his... Kendrick Lamar to me is better than J. Cole... |

#12 Posted: 7/30/2011 9:17:57 PM Ya I like Kendrick but I dont think hes as talented as Cole.
Cole does everything
Produce all his own garbage
Make all his own beats
Sings most of all his own hooks
Produces for other top emcees
I guess im just more a fan of rappers with flow and wordplay like Cole. The beats of his songs never drown out the lyrics and he always flows insync with the song. He tells a story just about as well as anyone in the game. He reminds me of Pac in this regard. He is ultra versatile. He can throw out a pure fire track where he spits, then make a emotional soft song like Lost ones or Farewell and then put up a club track like Workout.
Maybe Im being bias but I havent been this excited for a musician in awhile. I see big things for him. |
