#5 Posted: 12/16/2009 7:40:09 PM Not a movie but a tv show and it happened to come just a week ago
For those that saw it, episode 6 of friday night lights. The ending when Bob Dylan's "Dont Think Twice Its Alright" starts playing. Not only did the sound and rhythm of the song fit the scenes but the words to the song were identical to what had/was happening in the episode. Some of the lyrics just flat out sent chills through me (I'd give examples but a lot of people havent seen it yet due to it only being on directv at the moment and I dont want to spoil it). On top of that, the character who the song was being played for was once quoted as something along the lines of being "a different kind of football player because he's interested in art and listens to bob dylan" Put all of it together and it was one of the best and most chilling scenes I have ever seen.

#9 Posted: 12/21/2009 8:08:48 PM Knockin' on Heaven's Door- Bob Dylan- from "Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid"-
To Live and Die in L.A. - Wang Chung- - from movie of same title-
Rocket Man- Elton John- - from "The Astronaut Farmer"-
Agree with the Bowie / Metheny reference- probably one of my top 10 favorite songs of all time- |

#14 Posted: 1/18/2010 11:29:28 PM DSN, that To Live and Die in LA was a great soundtrack,
the whole score of tunes. Hard to believe Wang Chung did it. Points on a Curve was a good album but they never did anything decent other than those two whicjh were both great.

#15 Posted: 1/19/2010 4:22:55 PM From the wild behind flick, sometimes quite intense, in a flick called The Salton Sea starring Val Kilmer and one of my favorite actors Vincent
D 'Onofrio .
It was the song by Tool during the credits at the end of the flick called "Mourning" seems like a lot of you guys are more familiar with Tool than I am.
Wow. Kind of a treat. found this live version from a concert from NYC in 2007. The lead singer could use some better talent around him. Listening now. Hmmm..listened all the way through. It sucks live..Those guys are just not too good live as I am listening to it.
Here's "Mourning" not live movie version I was originally talking about.
50 million times better, and this one is the version from the movie. Mush more enjoyable.
Listening to this version of Mourning, makes it difficult to believe that they did that cool cover of Led Zep's "No Quarter" that I linked below.....
Maybe these guys just suck live. I've been sayimng that about the Stones regarding anything that I've heard them do live over the past 15 yrs. Of course no agrees with me and actually reflects on it.
Never seen 'em in person live, but Led Zep's live vids are phenomenal! I could watch Jimmy Page play live anytime. I truly believe he's the best guitarist that has walked the planet.
Hey one of you cats turned me onto Tool doing a cover for Led zep's "No Quarter" I found a video of it on you tube. Pretty damn cool. Doesn't have anything to do with this thread but I thought you guys might enjoy it.
Damn, there sure is some great stuff on you tuba as far as music goes.
I obviously have some time right now to track down These links. LOL
