Maxx.....

I'm sure that you've read my many comment about Cantor....they are the FUTURE of sports betting in this town. MGM, Harrahs, even LV Hilton had better get on board.

The M Hotel/Casino was just sold to Penn National....should be interesting how they work with Cantor and how this grows Penn National in Vegas now. New money with real brains!!

IF Cantor is so AGRESSIVE and GREAT, WHY don't they offer phone or computer accounts like the Stations gonophs?

btw, I can't figure out HOW buying into the M is such a great deal for Penn National. all they did was bail out Anthony Marnell III's money losing operation. dumbass tried to make a "local's joint" like the Wynn complete with overpriced everything. ONLY +++ is the NHL lines @ the Sportsbook (which is TOO damn small) and the beer selection @ the 32 degree bar by the sportsbook (IF you want to pay $7 for a Molsons and put up with the old right wing nut jobs that loaf there)

this town is definately NOT out of the woods yet. in fact IF both Wynn and Adelson could get their costs out of their LV properties, they would do it and concentrate on the Asian market.

maybe Penn National should have made one of THEM an offer.

Rink....Penn only outbid the Marnells on the debt....I think that its a smart move as leverage for Penn....Marnell is still looking for someone to partner with and keep the property...

Considering that the hotel has a few hundred rooms and that the Marnells were going after the Seven Hills/Anthem Country Club money, the book was the proper size....Everyone underestimated what Cantor was doing (except Cantor).....The phone and computer accounts from Stations are garbage; Leroy's app is far better.

Ya well, whatever on Stations vs LeRoy's app. point is Cantor does NOT offer ANYTHING for Nevada bettors that want to book by phone OR online.

I wouldn't call that "inovative" or "aggressive" esp when they have NO reason to be a "traffic magnet" for the M casino as they are just a tenant

Rink...

You need to see the "big picture" that Cantor Fitzgerald was orchestrating with their Cantor Tech division. In order of implementation...

1. They buy LVSC

2. They set up a deal with the Marnells to run the book at The M

3. They bring their technology from England into the States

4. They start to integrate their operation onto the Strip...Pallazzo, Venetian, Hard Rock, Tropicana, The Cosmopolitan...more to come...

5. They convince the NGC to let them bring "investment bookmaking options" to the sportsbooks

And you are upset that they are...at this time only...avoiding phone and online accounts?....Not only is that just a really minor subchapter to what they are doing; but, frankly...it's "chump change" compared to where they are taking their business operation.

To use a Wall Street analogy here....You are the penny stock guy and they are the underwriters for major LBO's.....You and Cantor are in two different worlds, with two different agendas....

Please understand, I mean no disrespect here....But comparing what Cantor is not giving you to what you are getting from the Fertitta's is not right. You're a local, you care about making your bet, getting a good line, winning some money...all well and good. That's why any local operation can be your book of choice....just don't assume that Cantor is that "local operation" just because they used the Marnells to develop their business in Nevada. Your negativity and, frankly, anger, is misplaced here.

Once again, no disrespect meant here at all...just hope that you can see what they are doing compared to what others have done.

Ya you BASH me for wanting something that the Stations people have offered for YEARS but unfortunately, on the computer side, now only available to those that have Cox Cable, and YOU say I'm "small minded"?

I would say the Cantor people are "small minded" instead. being able to book without "hauling behind, burning gas" all over the damn town OR having to loaf at a book during football weekends to bet 2nd halfs and other props, I would say is a GOOD thing.

Oh, and I'm SO excited that the people that brought us the MARKET CRASH of 2008 are NOW in the sportsbook business. maybe they can do the same thing for Las Vegas that they did for Wall Street

Bottom line for me is that for the first time I'm betting lines in Vegas that are -103/+103

Rink.....

Cantor lost 2/3 of their employees on 9/11....I was there.

Your "right-wing nut jobs" line combined with your additional comments on the industry and total inability to understand my analogy is pitiful, uninformed, and useless.

Done

ya I know Cantor was up in the World Trade Center.

as for "(IF you want to pay $7 for a Molsons and put up with the old right wing nut jobs that loaf there), that's a TRUE STATEMENT at the 32 Degree Bar. the wife and I don't go there anymore because we got TIRED of the BULLSHIT

excellent selection of beers. too bad the atmosphere has turned into that of a 1930's Bavarian Beer Haus.
