In my opinion, every man that has engaged himself into a life of competitiveness will always be attracted to his/her own opinion on the outcome of a sport they have played. Or, if even if they have'nt played sports but have a love for them, think they know them deeper than most because that love alone has a certain spot they hold close to themselves. My own experiences hopefully reaches out to the younger guys that 'think they know everything' in this 'business'.

First, it needs to be known that this is only a business for the rich, (obviously) or people that provide information professionally. Illegal business is not considered 'business', but, here in New England it is certainly that. I have seen cops overlook crimes commited in mom-and-pops stores on behalf of what they themselves may have coming to them; I have a new set of front teeth trying to enforce a debt the man was'nt too keene on paying. I'm not proud but I've done everything to sitting in a man's house for 3 day's while his wife waited for em, to collecting cards for men that never paid me. I've had my own mothers' phone ring on a bet I made against the due I owed my superior....

I have more stories than most of you 21-25 year old's think you have. When I converted this into a hobby instead of a business things have gotten better. What, do you think you're bookie is gonna keep answering his phone if you're killin' it? He'll take time off and wait for you to get anxious. He knows what you normally bet so he waits. I used to get INSTUCTED to say a O/U was 37 when it wa actually 47 against the guys I knew would just PAY!! even if they knew they were right!!

Play small fellas otherwise you are not going to bull-garbage me. I've seen guys remortgage their houses and make excuses only druggies make...Even if you get in the scene and THINK you're a dawg the only avenue is violence to get to what you think is a damn dream...

Vegas crushes everyone in this and stop making this what you think is a business...make it a hobby...get a little online account and a little hot girl and be happy with what you have..otherwise, spend your first 8 years like I did...

You talk like a vet but you havent showed me anything.

Lets just set the record straight, since I know that 21-25 year old jab was directed at me. I know that you think the only valuable thing when sportsbetting is experience, but that isn't true. A lot more goes into sports betting than just experience. It takes intelligence, instinct, and money management. All three of those things are more important than experience. Some people may have seen it all, but what good is that if you ignore what you've seen or bet large amounts that you cannot afford.

With all of that being said, sports betting is for suckers. The only way to make a seriously profit in the long run is to either find someone who cannot pick their nose, and fade them. Or to be extremely selective and only bet on certain games (not every night like most degens do.)

I still make a yearly profit betting sports, but I do it for fun, would never consider it for a job. Most of my bankroll comes from playing poker. I cashed out 8500 when I was 13 and never looked back. I would much rather do something that I have control over then throw insane amounts on a game that I have no control over. Once the bet is placed, you are at the mercy of professional athletes, and unless you know what they had for breakfast, what strip club they went to last night, or whats going through their mind, there is no telling what is going to happen.

You come off pretty cocky and seem to think you are a no-it-all, which rubs me the wrong way. I will never come on here with a pick and act like it can't lose (except for my 1 and only lock of the century, which was Jets/Broncos under 41. Yes it hit.) You may have the experience, but there are more vital things to success then experience

WTF, you make no sense.

I think you are trying to say that if you were my bookie, you would give me a bad line because I'm dumb enough to just throw a bet down. If thats what you think, you are more ignorant than I thought. You can find lines anytime, anywhere.

Single guys, worst customers less to lose, guys with human or financial assets...more to lose

Wow dude, you're slick.

If I wanted the under and it was 47 and you told me it was 37, I'd take the over. Then I'd either place a bet online or with another bookie at under 47.

Guess what, I can't lose and I have a 10 point middle.

i've been doing this for 7 years, not that impressive, but I have made money each season. I think what you are talking about is action junkies, which is not me.

Anyways, I think you're post is a generalization. Just because you didn't, doesn't mean others can't.

Then if you have a problem with LOSING when you WON it's up to you...you probably were a guy that was gonna stiff us in the long run and in the long hope you were'nt...call the cops!...

MAINE?...yup it's a small state with not much goin on

Maine guns for mass drugs as the saying goes up here

Everything was through Boston...can't remember any Canadian bettors on the NFL...

I see this so much at covers.

"I cant make money, so nobody can make money."

I say it all the time, you are a caveman looking up at the stars.  You are trying to project your experience on something you dont understand.

People do make money.  "Vegas" doesnt eat up everyone.  There are lots of people with 2 years experience making much more money than you and your 15.

Whoa..pontificates...big word.

Obviously people make money sportsbetting. I do, but not that much.

I make roughly 5k a year betting, but always get screwed even when I'm on the right side. (See Ravens TT over 21 yesterday) and over 40k the last 3 years playing poker.

Would love to see your YTD record with units
