I accidentally clicked save again on my banned avatar?

I'm trying to get rid of the banned avatar but I can't? I hope the blank avatar I selected goes through?

People are telling me they see a red ghost avatar on me?

I can't see anything but the covers supplied avatar that's a hip hop guy, with a brown hat and a brown jacket?

Where in the covers manifesto does it say drug related imagery?

Also drug related is very vague?

I'm being told this is my 2nd warning, when I wasn't even given a first warning, that I'm aware of, I received no email warning till now, I have never seen or can't see a red ghost, and I had no idea I was breaking a written rule?

Drug related comes under inapproiate images in point 2 of the manifesto. Whats vague about drug related imagery? Drugs are drugs. Like you were told this is your last warning. Upload an appropriate avatar and you'll have no problems.

As well, as Rizzo and Wallstreet told you in that thread, your avatar won't fly because it's drug-related. There's no grey area here. No matter how you slice it, cannabis or marijuana or pot or what-have-you is drug-related.

The dictionary definition of a drug:
“A chemical substance, such as a narcotic or hallucinogen, that affects the central nervous system, causing changes in behavior and often addiction.”

Water (H2O) is a chemical substance that affects the central nervous system causing changes in behavior. And we are certainly addicted to it! In fact, what about oxygen (O2)? Water and air are clearly drugs we are addicted to.

The dictionary definition of a chemical:
“A substance with a distinct molecular composition that is produced by or used in a chemical process.”

Since all substances are made up of molecules, everything is a chemical. Putting food into the body initiates the process of breaking down and dealing with the chemicals/molecules of the food. All food that gets absorbed into our body is broken down into more basic chemical compounds, travels through, and affects our central nervous system. Thus, according to the dictionary, everything we eat is a drug.

Therefore, that means that everything in this life is a drug in one form or another. So… ummm, yeah calling something a drug is vague.

Freedom is a drug and it’s my favorite drug of all.

I haven’t seen a custom avatar in what feels like weeks?

I’ve erased everything on my computer, using my internet eraser, manually erased my cache, cookies, and index etc... And still nothing guys?

I made a motion avatar that is blue and black that has the Dallas cowboy’s logo that says cowboys on the bottom with an all black shadow figure of a girl dancing. Is that OK?

its spose to be a open door policy here in covers help . So a poster should not feel afraid to comment on a subject if it also directly involves them or they can possibly provide insight  on a subject

I changed my avatar to the cowboys one with the shadow girl dancing. I hope that avatar is approved cuz I don’t want to get banned for this, especially since I didn’t know what was even happening in the first place.

I never knew the “first warning was a real warning” cuz I was told in a “post” and not through “email,” like I was originally told would happen, and the reason I sent the same pic twice. Was because I thought it was never checked for approval in the first place and I couldn’t even see a so called “red ghost”?

Sorry...the adjustment time IS the 3-strikes your out rule! This is a rational reasonable system and your buddy seems to be unable to deal with that. You have ALL been CLEARLY warned and instructed in ALL of the forums here. Take the time to read these rules and stop pleading ignorance...that's not a defence. We are being told to adopt a zero-tolerance policy here...trust us, we're being lenient with theis 3-strikes policy. Once bitten, twice shy...

3.Inappropriate images? That is vague, as hell guys and what is inappropriate to one is not to another.

4. We promise to be consistent and fair (REALLY?) How about me never seeing a red ghost avatar, ONCE! I never even knew my avatar even was uploaded for approval, the first time around, because as Lou said, “it might not have been approved or declined yet,” so I re-uploaded it not even knowing it was even denied in the FIRST PLACE!

5.I was NEVER ever notified by email, the first time around, EVER! Second as I already said, I didn’t get an email warning or see a red avatar from the beginning, and we have no description of what is considered “inappropriate,” so I had no clue I had done anything wrong from the start!

Firstly, your avatar right now IS the Red Ghost avatar...quite clearly...we were having some issues with users not seeing avatars on certain browsers but I have now checked all the one I could (IE, Chrome, Firefox, etc) and I am seeing your red ghost outline on EVERY one! so unless there is something up with your won device you should be seeing the same.

Secondly, we understand inappropriate can be quite vague. But everyone knows what DRUGS are or at least those that have clearly a pejorative overtone. Therefore your defence from earlier that the lack of clarity in the general definition of drugs is futile. common sense must apply. So, to a normal reasonable person, your earlier avatars' clear reference to 'pejorative' drugs would undoubtedly be deemed INAPPROPRIATE. Also, to hash (excuse the pun) out a definition of what is appropriate -so that we can overcome the vagueness in this proviso- we are using adopting an ad hoc case-by-case approach ie we look at each avatar as they come in and decide which one is inappropriate based on a judgement call and the context to the picture. It would be unfair to just ban those that we deem inappropriate. That is why we give you all 3 chances...this is reasonable, rational, and lets you guys know which ones we feel are inappropriate...thereby creating a clearer definition of 'inappropriate'.

We hav no vendetta against you...in fact I am VERY tempted to just let you back on a first warning because you are kicking up such a fuss about the whole thing. But you need to read the Covers Manifesto again and familiarise yourself with the new system. Wwe are giving you warnings and when an avatar is removed and the red ghost appears then that IS a warning. do not put up that avatar again. You did that though and Rizzo PMed you on that.

So, you give people 3 “Judgement Call” strikes? I guess nothing could go wrong with that logic?

I see tons problems with that policy. The rules should say NO girls and no party related images allowed.

I have 3 computers in my house. I have a laptop computer with WiFi connection and two different home computers on a land line with high speed internet.

The laptop top has Internet explorer 8, the gray home computer, in the computer room has Google chrome, and the black dell computer I use the most in my living room and I am currently using has Firefox 16.

I’ve changed browsers on ALL 3 computers, I’ve repaired my connection, and have erased everything on all of them multiple times, cleared cookies, cache, browser history, index.dat to try, F5 repeatedly to get covers to work properly for me to see this “alleged” red ghost. And, you guessed it, NOTHING!

I put the avatar up a second time because I had it for weeks and weeks without a single warning from CT, the Mods, or Rizz, posting over 50 posts with no complaints. And, I thought it hadn’t went through when all the avatars were taken down, because I couldn’t see it or see a red ghost avatar!

I’ve had the “drug” related avatar for weeks and weeks before the avatar issue was bought up, and received ZERO complaints by the mods or CT, when I was posting in the various forums.

Which is why I thought I hadn’t broke any rules in the first place! You would think in the over 50+ posts throughout out those weeks that a MOD or CT would have told me I had such an “inappropriate” avatar.

If I had been told during that time, I would have never re-uploaded it in the first place, and which is why I was in shock when I was told I had done anything against the rules!

NO mod or any member of the CT said anything to me during those weeks of me posting with that avatar, so how was I supposed to know I had done anything wrong? And, that PM was alleged to be my second offense, when in fact I hadn’t even been aware of having a first offense to begin with.

 I had the “inappropriate” avatar showing in all the forums for weeks. I received no email for the “first” offense. I can’t see a red ghost avatar or any custom avatars, and I’m being threatened with being banned, when I’ve never broken a rule or been into the penalty box before.

So, you can see why I feel screwed and why I’m making a big deal about it!

My next avatar will be music related, sports related, state pride related with no girls or profanity or anything deemed or could even remotely be interpreted as inappropriate whatsoever, I hope!

All I ask is for you guys to cut it down to my first offense, and I promise to stay out of trouble. Just like I have been clear of trouble the years I’ve been on here.

MoneySRH we are thankgul you seem to be sorted. We understand this is a stressful procedure we are trying to bring in. We know there are a lot of things we would do differently if we had to do this again (let's hope that NEVER happens tho ;)). All we ask is that you please abide by the rules and procedures we set out. You may not agree with them and perhaps quite rightfully so. Technical issues can arise and users like yourself may not be able to see the red avatars/warnings/etc. This can be unfair at times but right now our some-what low-tolerance approach to this is the only system that is workably efficient for us so we ask you agan to please try and abide by it. Everything should be working more smoothly shortly.

I empathise with your grievances but hopefully that is the end of it now.

In any case I have re-set your account back to first warning. Hope that helps.
