Freaky,
I had a feeling you'd agree with me. It was totally the right call. I wrote a long post explaining some of the math. Tell me if you have a chance to read it.

Seems like everyone wrote a noel about this call...
I gotta say, I have to respectfully disagree.
RULE #1. have faith in your team. This is what you train 5 of 6 days a week for.

you should quit gambling if you think that was the right call.
do you realize the message he just sent hsi defense tonight? they he has no faith in them to stop one last drive.
sorry but you punt the ball no matter how hot manning was, because theres nothing that says he couldnt get intercepted on the final drive.
You have to play defense.

I've been reading all these posts about how bad this call was...
I've yet to read one where anybody actually explains what they thought the probabilities were and why it was a bad move. If you stop and look at the math in detail, you'll see he made the right move....

Been watching pro football for 50 yrs & can't remember ever seeing a call like that in that situation. Regardless of how good a coach Belichick is & all the reasoning/factors behind it which I understand, there's a good reason for that & it played out tonite.
Doesn't matter what it said to his D (not relevant at all) or if he'd have got the 1st to end the game, was way too risky & a bad decision. You make ANYONE go as far as possible in that scenario to beat you when a td's needed with only 2 mins left. Couldn't believe he made that decision - incredible

Your smater than them bro, formulate ur own opinions and dont use the alaysts agree with me as backup. Ur postive he wasnt saying, I trust my better and way more experienced and offense to pick up this yeard and even if they dont i have faith you will keep him out. Its a comparision of your offense to your defense in that situation and the patriots happen to have one of the most best offenses int he league. If they will gain that one yeard 90% of the time and your D will keep them out 85% thats a great D but, you still go for it. You play the percentages and if its 50/50 you keep the game in your own hands.

I think that neither of you guys know if it was the right call. So you should quite gambling also. the fact that they didnt pick it up means NOTHING. Coaches should be judged on the means of there calls not the ends. If the patriots have aplay that gains ainimum of 3 years 70% of the time they run it, and people who know more than use put there chances of stoping the colts at 60%. Then you go for it there. If you dont understand that then you shouldnt be gambling.
Was it arrogance or intelligence, We really dont know. ?But im willing to bet his decision was a whole lot more educated than people think.

It was a bad call regardless of what argument you have. But the angle that no one is talking about is:
If you are going to take 4th and 2... why not try and run the ball on 3rd down????

gimme a break, what r they babies!?
their paid professionals, get a clue. team morale.
u can take it as a challenge to the defense as well. he doesnt think were good enough so well prove him wrong.
u think team morale has always been strong on every championship team??
lol..
u have never played a sport at a high level if you think every has to be chummy to be a successful team.
a ton of players from a ton of successful teams have hated each others guts!!"

I hate fcuking idiots like you. Think they are smart but havent a fcuking clue what they are actually talking about...

You think your chances are better of stopping peyton 70 yards? or getting 1 yard? In this perticular situation as good as Peyton is and has been in the 4th quarter shredding NE I would go with my chances of getting 1 yard.
Wako is right boys
