MLB World Series odds: Nationals’ odds still dropping

The Washington National came into this season priced around 50-1 to win the World Series. Now that we’re getting into the thick of the schedule, the NL East-leading Nats are now set at 10-1 to win the title.

Washington, which owns the best team ERA in the bigs (3.01) also sits third behind the Baltimore Orioles and Los Angeles Dodgers in the MLB money standings, having earned 11.05 units for its supporters this season.

Despite getting swept by the visiting Yankees weekend, the Nationals remain four games ahead of the Atlanta Braves in the NL East.

“I think that’s the one good thing that came [out of] this weekend,” Adam LaRoche told reporters. “That’s about as close to a playoff atmosphere as you’re going to get — although it can feel like a road game at times [with all the Yankees fans], and I’m sure they get that wherever they go, other than Boston. But that’s it. Get the place packed, people going crazy, and obviously it draws a lot of media attention. It’ll be good for these guys, especially the young guys, to get used to that.”

Washington hosts the Tampa Bay Rays Tuesday.
