Hot lines: Tuesday's best MLB bets

Los Angeles Dodgers at Colorado Rockies: (-115, 9)

Chad Billingsley stars in Part 1 of the Dodgers-Rockies doubleheader today in Colorado.

Los Angeles’ hardest working right-hander has pitched near-perfect baseball in his past four starts. During this stretch he is 4-0 with a 1.64 ERA, adding 32 strikeouts over his past 33 innings of work.

The Dodgers, who open a seven-game road swing today, are currently four games behind the NL West lead and two games out of the wild card. Billingsley’s best efforts have come in enemy territory, where he has posted a 7-2 road record this season with an impressive 2.61 ERA away from Dodger Stadium.

Pick: Dodgers +107

Seattle Mariners at Oakland Athletics: (-135, 9 ½)

After two rough outings to start the month, Oakland’s Chad Gaudin came out in his last start and showed the familiar form that made him one half of the AL’s best pitching duos earlier in the season.

The A’s righty threw six innings and gave up three earned runs against the Texas Rangers last Thursday night.

"I felt positive toward the outing," Gaudin told reporters. "I felt I was in control. I made some good pitches when I needed to and attacked the zone. I was not working under pressure, just laboring a little bit."

Gaudin has been solid against Seattle, going 1-1 with a 3.45 ERA. He tossed a complete game against the M’s back in late July but came out on the losing end of a 4-3 score.

Pick: Athletics -135

Pittsburgh Pirates at San Diego Padres: (-145, 7 ½)

Pittsburgh’s got a secret. A dirty little, left-handed secret.

Southpaw pitcher Tom Gorzelanny is one of the best arms in the National League over the past two months, going 5-1 in his last eight starts. During his past five outings, Gorzelanny is 3-0 with a 3.34 ERA.

In addition to his 14 wins this season, Gorzelanny has been the Bucs' best arm on the road – which is something Pittsburgh needs after losing three straight on their current road swing. He is 8-3 away from home this season with a steady 3.31 road ERA.

Pick: Pirates +137

No, not at all budfight, just a figure if speech for anyone under 30 who uses popl culture / MTV-type termionology, or college fottoball players, or college basket =ball players, etc. I love kids, I was a teacher before I started a computer company in the mid-'70's, probably forgot more about how to educate and motivate young people than you inow. But who gives a f-ck. Do you have any input on A&M Thuirsday or Okalahoma / Tulsa on Friday? If not please save the personal stuff for anotehr forum, it is not welcome here. I am actually older than 85 but they didn't have that as an option in the drop-down in my pofile setup, so I had to go with 60. Do you need a car?

TEABAG69- is it some kind of crutch to be a "kid". I see you on here always bashing people for being kids. Im guessing your just an old fat fart who shoots beebees at kids for walking on their lawn. And if these are kids, wouldnt it make your life seem so much more worthless that you fight with them on here. Your older than 60 fighting with kids online? What does that say about you?

OK, I am settled on my over/under's for the rest of the month - so a) total is 2 for the amount of personal attacks I get per day, I take the over always, you take the under. And I may bump it to 3 and still feel confident I cash daily; b) the total is 10 for "lol"'s per day, again - I have the over; and c) the total is 5 for the times we hear "lock" per day. I'll take the over there as well. I will start taking bets on these tomorrow, week's end on Monday's....

I love this. St. Louis walks Howard, then walks Rowand to get the bases loaded for Dobbs - one out.

Meanwhile back to the games, thanks for Oakland whoever had that one....what do the kids say - "lol" or something like that? Whatever the f that means.....if i had a 100 spot for every time i see f'ing "lol" on this forum I might stop wagering for a few days. Probably not.

Yeah I was tallking OK/RTexas, then I ran with the Tulsa thing since I had so many comments today about my wagering. All bs, I think I cashed my over/under 2 personall comments poer day. Horns, no hard feelings bro, just dont come in here trying to call people out without looking at the whole picture. It just makes you look bad, and at the end of the day, who gives a f-ck? Take the advice or leave it like the rest of us, save the personal crap for your girlfriend.

i had more winners than losers Friday night - where were you? That was only 4 days ago, not 8 weeks? Were you at a school dance? or the football game, and the whole "friday night lights" thing? Again, focus on both sides of the coin if you ever want anyone to listen to you in here, we have all been there. When I first came in here I saw some people making losing plays for a coupel of weeks and you know what, some of those guys are absolutely awesome and I would stack up their capping ability against anyone I have run into in 23 years of wagering...

Figured that since the line is around 22 now - that if you were a book you'd like to attract more Oaklahoma money so that when Tulsa covers even that line you make out like a bandit.

Horns i dont want props from you, not when I am losing, not when I am winng. All I want from you is adult behavior with feedback on games. Dont bust my b-lls for thanking people who thank me for picks. I'd liek to think yopu have better things to do with your time. You didn't bring up the OK, Tulsa game - I did, just to see if you actually have any constructive feedback to offer on any game, tonight, tomorrow, Friday, two weeks from now.....so, now that we know your take on Friday, who do you like this week in college football? As always, feedback on the games - and the games only - is welcome, looking forward to your inout on this week's board. Thanks......

Sorry I dont need an ego on here. Im not the one who "makes all the money" or is "a regular" and the best one Ive heard from you yet "thanks me for picks." Why would I come on here the last 8 weeks. I just found this site.Technically your comment about 8 weeks ago would be impossible. I guess your the "ego" of the room, or as you would say "the big guy". Not only will I watch Sportscenter but at the same time another card of yours go up in flames.

"The line has gone through the roof on the Mets - maybe time to make a small play on Washington. The pens might decide this game too and I trust the Washington pens a lot more these days than the Mets."
