A massive manhunt for one of the suspects in the Boston Marathon bombing has shutdown most of Boston and has Friday’s sports action in the area on hold.
The Boston Red Sox’s home game versus the Kansas City Royals, slated to start at 7:10 p.m. ET, has been postponed. And the Boston Bruins’ home game against the Pittsburgh Penguins, scheduled for 7 p.m. ET, is also cancelled.
The Bruins game has been rescheduled for Saturday at TD Garden beginning at 12:30 p.m.,ET.
The game between the Penguins and Buffalo Sabres, scheduled for Saturday night in Pittsburgh, has been moved to April 23 at 7:30 p.m., ET.
Law enforcement issued a lockdown for most of the Boston area early Friday morning following a shootout with Dzhokhar Tsarnaev and Tamerlan, the two suspects in Monday’s bombings which killed three and injured several others. Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, was killed in the conflict with police.
