It’s a three-pack of games in the WNBA tonight, highlighted by the league-leading Minnesota Lynx closing in on the top seed as they visit the Washington Mystics.

The second-place team trying to track them down, the Golden State Valkyries, are also in action in Chicago to take on the Sky, while expansion cousins Portland and Toronto duel up north.

Read below for my WNBA moneyline picks for Friday, Aug. 21, and see why the Fire will stay hot.

Expert WNBA moneyline picks for August 21

Lynx vs Mystics pick: Lynx

Kalshi probability: 62%

Minnesota is rolling, with wins in five straight and just one loss across its last 16. That is finishing strong down the stretch.

Even though Napheesa Collier (rest) will sit, and standout rook Olivia Miles (ankle) is a game-time decision, there’s plenty of depth to carry the Lynx to a W.

They’re the only team to rank Top 3 in both scoring and points allowed in the WNBA, and they’ve taken seven of the last nine head-to-head meetings.

Washington has been able to keep it close, going 4-1-1 against the spread vs. Minnesota the last six, though it’s only amounted to two wins.

Valkyries vs Sky pick: Valkyries

Kalshi probability: 69%

Golden State’s trademark is its relentless defense. It leads the league in scoring defense, allowing 76.7 points per game, the only team in the W to go sub-80 in that category.

They’ll need that defense to stand up as they open a mammoth five-game road trip, with seven of their final nine games away from home.

The Sky have felt G-State’s defensive force in their five career head-to-heads, where they’ve won just one of five games, averaging just 68.6 points across those matchups.

The Valkyries are only 13th in scoring, but they’ve found another gear against the Sky, putting up a solid 84.5 points per game in four wins.

Chicago has won two straight but have yet to string together three in a row this season, and it’s not likely to happen here.

Fire vs Tempo pick: Fire

Kalshi probability: 57%

Toronto is hoping a two-game stint in Vancouver can help them buck their 12-game losing streak as they host the Portland Fire.

With nine games to go, Toronto has five games against five sub-.500 teams to try and snap their skid, starting Friday night.

Portland has matched its best stretch of the year, with wins in four of its last five, all against teams with losing records.

That includes a 97-83 win against the Tempo on August 6, their second straight win vs. Toronto, both by double-digits.

With leading scorer Marina Mabrey (hamstring), Maria Conde (calf), and Nyara Sabally (calf) all out, Toronto will find itself at an unlucky 13 straight L’s.
