Expert WNBA moneyline picks for Aug. 14

Wings vs Fever: Fever (74% probability)

The Dallas Wings are banged up at exactly the wrong time.

Jessica Shepard and Azzi Fudd have been ruled out, taking two important pieces out of a Dallas lineup that already has enough problems to deal with.

The Wings have also lost three of their last four and now head into Gainbridge Fieldhouse tonight severely limited and in serious trouble.

The Indiana Fever don't really need any extra help offensively. Their 60.4% eFG% leads the WNBA, and I trust that offense to take advantage of the shorthanded Wings.

I’d play Indiana ML to 80%.

Fire vs Storm: Storm (56% probability)

The Portland Fire are leaking points in the paint, allowing 40.7 per game over their last five.

That’s less-than-optimal against a Seattle Storm group that has the matchup weapon to exploit it, as Dominique Malonga has scored at least 21 points in three straight games.

The bigger problem for Portland is Carla Leite, their offensive engine, who has been sidelined with a lower-leg injury.

Without Leite running the show, I don't trust Portland to generate enough quality looks to beat the Storm on the road.

I’m taking Seattle ML up to 60%. Below that, I’m not getting enough value for an edge this specific.
