The Philadelphia Flyers savored the flavor of a November to remember, recording an NHL-best 24 points (10-2-4) to boost their season total to 35 entering December for the first time since the Hockey Hall of Famer Eric Lindros-led team in 1995-96. The Flyers vie for their fifth consecutive victory on Tuesday when they host the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Defenseman Ivan Provorov capped the month of November with a highlight-reel goal in overtime in Philadelphia's 4-3 victory over Montreal on Saturday afternoon, giving the club 10 wins in a month for the fourth time in the last nine seasons. One of those victories was a 3-2 shootout win over Toronto on Nov. 9, which came exactly one week after losing an 11-round shootout to the Maple Leafs. The loss to the Flyers ignited a six-game winless skid for a Toronto club that dismissed coach Mike Babcock in favor of Sheldon Keefe. The Maple Leafs rebounded to win four of their next five, with captain John Tavares scoring in overtime of a 2-1 victory on Saturday in the back end of a home-and-home series against Buffalo.

ABOUT THE MAPLE LEAFS (13-11-4): Tavares has recorded multi-point performances in three straight games (four goals, two assists) while his 10 goals are tied with William Nylander for second on the team behind Auston Matthews. Speaking of Nylander, the 23-year-old recorded 13 points (seven goals, six assists) in 14 games in November -- including two in the most recent meeting with the Flyers. "This is what we paid for," Toronto general manager Kyle Dubas said of the team signing Nylander to a six-year, $45 million extension, per TSN. "... He's obviously been excellent this season and he's got the numbers to back it up."

ABOUT THE FLYERS (15-7-5): Sean Couturier collected 15 (six goals, nine assists) of his 21 points in the November while captain Claude Giroux chipped in with 12 (six goals, six assists) of his 19 in the month. Fellow forward Jakub Voracek overcame a pronounced slump in which he recorded just one point in a seven-game stretch to collect seven (two goals, five assists) in his last five contests. "You just see on the players how confident they are when the team is winning," the 30-year-old told the Courier Post. "You usually have all four lines going, playing well, playing confident."
