Tulsa goes for a second straight victory when it hosts Austin Peay in a non-conference matchup on Saturday. The Golden Hurricane are coming off a 74-67 home win over Oral Roberts on Tuesday, while the Governors dropped their last game, falling 97-75 at Western Kentucky.

Coach Matt Figger has an almost brand-new roster this season, with only two players returning that saw significant playing time a season ago. One of those two, 6-5 forward Terry Taylor, is leading the team with 21.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks. Tulsa has sported a balanced scoring attack thus far this season, with junior forward Brandon Rachal pacing the Golden Hurricane with 12.7 points and 7.7 rebounds. Senior forward Martins Igbanu and junior forward Jeriah Horne are each averaging 11 points per contest, while sophomore guard Darien Jackson contributes nine points and seven rebounds per game.

ABOUT AUSTIN PEAY (1-1): Austin Peay prides itself on taking care of the basketball, coming off a season in which it led the Ohio Valley Conference in turnover margin, forcing 3.91 more turnovers per game than it committed. Last season's team averaged 11.9 turnovers per game, but the 2019-20 version of the Governors has been even better, entering Saturday's game with an average of 11 turnovers through two games. Austin Peay has forced 40 turnovers in its first two contests, giving it a turnover margin of 9.0, something Tulsa needs to be careful of, as it has the same number of turnovers (37) as its opponents thus far.

ABOUT TULSA (2-1): It remains to be seen if he stays with it, but Frank Haith seemed to find the right formula for what ailed Tulsa in its lone loss of the season, starting freshman point guard Isaiah Hill against Oral Roberts on Tuesday. Hill responded to his first career start, finishing with 12 points, eight assists and two steals in the Hurricane's victory. Jackson, a junior, also got his first start of the season in the game, finishing with six points, 11 rebounds and four assists; both players are listed as projected starters against Austin Peay.

TIP-INS

1. Austin Peay, which is averaging 92.5 points, is shooting 48.7 percent from the field this season but connecting on just 20.5 percent from 3-point range.

2. In three games, Tulsa has had three different leaders in each game for points, assists and steals.

3. The Golden Hurricane are riding a 15-game winning streak in home contests against non-conference opponents.

PREDICTION: Tulsa 78, Austin Peay 72
