Last Meeting ( Jan 16, 2020 ) Orlando 95, L.A. Clippers 122

The Los Angeles Clippers improved to 3-1 on their six-game road trip when Kawhi Leonard recorded his first career triple-double in a 122-117 triumph Friday at Miami. Leonard sat out a 102-95 setback at Atlanta on Wednesday but looked fresh while collecting 33 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists versus the Heat and seeks an encore performance when the Clippers visit the Orlando Magic on Sunday..

"It's amazing," Los Angeles coach Doc Rivers told reporters of Leonard's triple-double. "But he's become a better passer as his career's gone on. If you watched him even last year, scorer, rebounder, defender, and then towards the end of the playoffs - scorer, rebounder, defender, passer. This year he picked up where he left off. He's been passing all year for us, so it's been phenomenal." The Clippers handed the Heat just their second home loss and improved to 6-2 since star forward Paul George went down with a hamstring injury. Leonard managed 32 points, five rebounds and five assists in a 122-95 drubbing of the Magic at home on Jan. 16, which marked the beginning of a stretch of losses in four of five games for Orlando. The Magic are in danger of going winless on a three-game homestand after falling to Oklahoma City and Boston in the first two contests.

ABOUT THE CLIPPERS (32-14): Leonard was the key on Friday, but Los Angeles got a strong effort from its bench in the win, with four reserves scoring in double figures. Jeff Green (14 points, 10 rebounds) and Montrezl Harrell (15 points, 11 boards) each added a double-double off the bench while Lou Williams (16 points) and Patrick Patterson (12) helped the Clippers wash away the sour taste from the loss at Atlanta. "That's who they are - a tough-minded group,” Rivers told reporters. "But that was a really quality win because we didn't have anything in the first quarter. Didn't have any juice, it felt like. Instead of getting blown out, we hung in there."

ABOUT THE MAGIC (21-25): Center Nikola Vucevic went 6-of-18 from the floor in Friday's 109-98 loss to the Celtics and is shooting 43.2 percent from the field in January. "I have to figure it out," Vucevic told reporters. "All season long my offense and my shooting have been a little bit up and down. I haven't been as efficient as I've been my whole career and I have to figure it out. I have to work through it, fight through it and that's all I can do." Vucevic wasn't the only Orlando player struggling on Friday as Terrence Ross went 3-of-14 from the floor, including 2-of-11 from beyond the arc.
