Blake Perkins drove in the game's only run with an eighth-inning single to lead the Milwaukee Brewers to a 1-0 victory to salvage the finale of a three-game series against the visiting San Diego Padres on Wednesday afternoon.

Padres starter Michael King (2-1) had a no-hitter through 6 2/3 innings before Willy Adames broke it up with a bloop single to right field.

King remained in the game in the bottom of the eighth, when he allowed a one-out single to Brice Turang. After Turang stole second, King struck out Jackson Chourio for the second out, ending his outing.

The right-hander went 7 2/3 innings, allowing one run on two hits and two walks -- both in the second inning. King struck out 10.

King was replaced by Wandy Peralta and Perkins greeted him with a single to left, scoring the speedy Turang from second.

San Diego squandered its best chance to score in the top of the eighth.

Matthew Batten led off the inning with a triple, but Abner Uribe got the next three outs, including a highlight-reel play he made off the mound on a slow-roller by Fernando Tatis Jr.

Joel Payamps then came in for the Brewers in the ninth, forcing groundouts from Jurickson Profar and Manny Machado before Ha-Seong Kim lined out for the final out. It was Payamps' second save of the season.

It was a bullpen day for Milwaukee. Bryse Wilson got the start and threw 3 2/3 shutout innings followed by 2 1/3 scoreless from Bryan Hudson. Elvis Peguero then added a scoreless frame before Uribe (2-1) and Payamps did the same.

Milwaukee's three-game losing streak came to an end while San Diego's three-game winning streak ended as well.
