Two teams flirting with the relegation zone meets for an important three points on Monday afternoon when West Ham United welcomes Brentford for a Premier League outing in London.
The Hammers have already changed managers, and Nuno Espirito Santo will walk out the home tunnel for the first time in hopes of getting the side’s second win of the season. Brentford are still recovering from selling numerous players, and are seeking their first result away from home in four trips.

Premier League predictions for West Ham vs Brentford
My West Ham vs Brentford best bet: Jarrod Bowen anytime goalscorer (+210 at Sports Interaction)
While there is excitement surrounding the appointment of Nuno Espirito Santo as the manager of West Ham United, there are still serious problems with the players available to him. After a draw at Everton and a loss at Arsenal prior to the international break, Nuno gets his first match in front of the home fans.
And those fans will see a side that will be without Niclas Fullkrug. The striker suffered a thigh muscle tear during training this week, leaving the Hammers without their focal point in attack.
That means there will be more of an emphasis on Jarrod Bowen to provide the scoring thrust. Bowen will set up on the right side of the attacking midfield as usual, an area where multiple teams this season have found success against this Brentford team.
In fact, go back to Nuno’s earlier match against Brentford when he led Nottingham Forest to a 3-1 win at home in August. Dan Ndoye caused problems all match and scored in the first half.
Bowen has been a consistent threat this season. Through seven matches, he has three goals and an assist and he’s scored in two of the last three for the Hammers. But he’s averaging a shot on target per 90 minutes, and 11 of his 15 shots this season have come inside the penalty area.
Brentford have conceded the sixth-highest expected goals mark this season, and only six teams have a higher goals per SOT mark. The Bees are also allowing 2.86 goal creating actions per 90, fifth-most in the Premier League.
Given he splits free kick and penalty duties as well, Bowen’s price is too high to ignore here as I have his fair odds at closer to +150. I’ll back him to find the back of the net against a side that has gone six without keeping a clean sheet.

West Ham’s defense has allowed more goal creating actions per 90 minutes than any club in the Premier League, but the appointment of Nuno will help that. However, while they’re not conceding as many goals there are still issues with the back line.
Only Manchester City prior to the international break have managed to keep Brentford off the score sheet this season. I don’t see either team keeping a clean sheet here.
The man leading the attack for the Bees is Igor Thiago, who is averaging nearly a shot on target per 90 minutes and has four goals across seven matches.
West Ham have allowed an opposing lone striker to put a shot on target in three straight matches, and four of their last five.
