My Orlando City SC vs Inter Miami CF best bet: Over 3.5 goals (+106 at FanDuel)
To say that Orlando City and Inter Miami don’t like each other is an understatement. Much of the vitriol stems from how the Lions get rough with Lionel Messi, who hasn’t been shy about giving some of it back with fouls of his own.
But Javier Mascherano confirmed on Saturday morning that Messi will not make the trip to central Florida. And while it’s easy to think that means we won’t see as many goals, recent results show that may not be the case.
Inter Milan took home a 3-1 win over Pumas on Wednesday in a must-win match in the Leagues Cup. Luis Suarez scored a penalty and assisted his side’s other two goals, after having just one goal involvement in his previous seven matches.
Newly added Rodrigo de Paul scored one of those goals, adding to the two assists he had against Necaxa. He’s looked solid since joining and has shown he can add a threat in the final third.
For Orlando City, they’re coming in off a 5-1 thrashing of that same Necaxa side. They’ve scored 14 goals in their last five matches in all competitions, but haven’t kept a clean sheet in their previous 10 fixtures.
Luis Muriel is coming off a hat-trick performance, while Martin Ojeda has a goal involvement in five straight matches with six goals and three assists in that span. They lead a formidable attack against an Inter Miami side playing a third-choice keeper.
Inter Miami’s kept just one clean sheet in their last 12 matches across all competitions, and 11 of their last 12 matches have featured at least three goals. Orlando’s previous 19 matches have seen 3+ goals scored on 15 occasions.
Neither side wants to lose to the other, and both have leaky defenses with plenty of weapons in attack. We’ll back four or more goals to be scored for the sixth time in nine meetings between these clubs.

Orlando City defeated Inter Miami 3-0 earlier this season, despite Messi being involved, and they’re unbeaten against the Herons in the last three meetings.
In fact, Inter Miami has never won in Orlando in nine visits.
But when these sides get together in Orlando, they seem to share the spoils nearly every time. Six of the last seven meetings in central Florida have ended in stalemates.
Neither of these teams can stand losing to the other, and that, along with the history between them, has me going against the market and backing a draw.
Ojeda has been a machine this season and has been one of the best players in MLS. He’s either scored or assisted in 11 of his last 12 starts for Orlando City, and he has 20 goal involvements in 25 league outings this season.
He averages 0.41 xG per 90 minutes in league play and 0.25 xA per 90, and will be involved in a goal yet again.
