If you don't like parlays you can just play all of these dogs straight up.
This friend of mine always says "hey hey" after she says the word "Parlay". Don't ask me, I have no idea. I do think its kind of funny though.
Anyway, I'm going to post parlays all season long in this thread. I will only be using dogs in these parlays. Be careful with these plays. When we win, we will win BIG. And when we lose, we will lose less than big, but more than small. Hopefully, we will win more than we lose.
Here is how you do this. You play all the teams in every possible combination of parlay of every size from 2X up to the total number of teams listed, all plays to win the same amount of money. That means that you are risking less as the number of teams played together goes up.
So, you play 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X, 6X, 7X, 8X, and 9X (9X on 9 teams is actually a parlay). If you don't have the bankroll or the cajones to play all of these legs, you can play 2X, 3X up to whatever size you are comfortable with. One of my friends never goes above 3X.
It works out like this for 9 teams:
2 team round robin 1 to win 4.19.
3 team round robin .386 to win 4.19
4 team round robin .161 to win 4.19
5 team round robin .07 to win 4.19
6 team round robin .03 to win 4.19
7 team round robin .013 to win 4.19
8 team round robin .006 to win 4.19
9 team parlay .00264 to win 4.19
Now, you obviously cannot place a bet of .00264, so decide how much you want to risk on the 2 pick round robin, then multiply that by the factors that I listed to see how much you would risk on all the other legs. Or, you can start with the minimum size bet on the 9 team play and reverse to see what size bet you need on the other plays. Remember, the potential win amount needs to be the same for each size round robin.
Let's say that the minimum sized bet allowed for a parlay or round robin is $5.00. On the 9 team bet, the $5.00 bet wins $7,940, so we size all the bets to win $7,940 (or a bit more to make the math easier). For each round robin, you risk X to win $8,000.00 (more or less):
9 team parlay, the bet is $5.00 to win $7,940.00
8 team round robin, the bet size will be $11.34 to win $7,992.00
7 team round robin, the bet size will be $25.56 to win $7,972.00
6 team round robin, the bet size will be $58.80 to win $8,083.00.
5 team round robin, the bet size will be $132.60 to win $7,960.00
4 team round robin, the bet size will be $308.00 to win $8,016.00
3 team round robin, the bet size will be $739.00 to win $8,034.00
2 team round robin, the bet size will be $1,908 to win $8,039.00
This breaks even if the dogs hit around 50%, it wins very well if you can get the dogs above 50%.
If all the dogs win then you get to buy yourself a new hot young wife. Let me know if you want one of these, I have some contacts who can supply them.
