LSU vs Bama National Championship Writeup!!!

I am going to start off by breaking down these two teams vs each other, and how they match up, position by position. Some of these stats are coming from several articles that I found from AL.com, but for the vast majority, these are all my ideas, and thoughts.

QB - Aj Mccarron - has 2400 yards, a 66.7 completion percentage, 16 TD's, 5 int's, and has been sacked 11 times. Things to note: Two of AJ's int's came from the first game, when he was in a QB

battle, and those were both tips. After that he threw over 150 passes without an int, which tied the school record for 3rd. The next one was against Tennessee, and after he threw it, he came back

and had the best game of his season. He threw one pick in the LSU game, late in the third, and managed to compile two balanced drives, totaling 13 plays, and 80 yards, after. He had 199 yards in the LSU game.

Jordan Jefferson - Yes, I think we can discount Lee from this equation, based on that performance we saw in the first game. Leave it to Less though, to put a kink in the game plan, and bring

him in a good bit to throw us off.. Anyways... Keep in mind, Jefferson came in later in the season, so his numbers aren't quite as high. He has 684 yards, 60.2 completion percentage, 6 TD's, and 1 pick, and has been sacked 10 times. One thing I have noticed, and I can't find a number for him for this, but he has fumbled the ball several times. This could play a role in this game. Aside from that he has managed games very well, and did amazing against us totaling 110 yards.

RB - Trent Richardson - What else can you say about Trent Richardson, except he is absolutely amazing. Pay attention in this game, if only to watch a truly talented player, play his last game of

college football before he starts his NFL career. Heisman trophy candidate, 6th ranked running back in the nation, best in the SEC, 1583 yards rushing on 263 attempts, 6.0YPC, with 20td's.

As great as he is, he had his 3rd worst rushing, yards wise, game of the season against LSU. This was also one out of three games this season in which he didn't score a TD... Eddie Lacie isn't a bad backup either. I think we will see a lot more of him in this game, seeing as how the injury is no longer a factor, or at least not as big of a factor, based on the team reports the past few days.

It's hard to single out one of LSU's RB's being a factor in this game, seeing as how all of them can play a role if called upon. They have about 5... They are going to look to the combo of Ford, and Jefferson again, to throw our defense off, and use their speed on the edges in an attempt to expose our defense. Ga southern had success in this area as well, but as I have stated, I think it all comes down to game planning. I think we will have an answer for this on defense, and shut them down for the most part.

WR's/TE's - Maze leads the team with 56 catches for 627 yards. The next leading receivers are running back Trent Richardson (327 yards, three touchdowns) and tight end Smelley (317 yards, four

touchdowns). The Tide's passing offense ranks 71st in the nation, averaging 213.58 yards per game. We have found several other options along the way... 5 NEW receivers have caught TD passes this season, so AJ has a lot of options, they just have to find a way to get open. As for LSU, Randle is one of the top deep threats in the conference, but outside of him the LSU offense barely saw any

explosive plays. Freshman Beckham Jr. was the Tigers' second-leading receiver, hauling in 36 catches. But he only averaged 12.1 yards per catch. Peterson was an afterthought in the offense for most of the season, only grabbing 17 balls.
