The Stanley Cup Final heads to Sunrise as the Florida Panthers host the Edmonton Oilers in Game 3 at Amerant Bank Arena.
Florida forward Sam Bennett is one of the leading candidates for the Conn Smythe Trophy, and for good reason. He leads all skaters this postseason with 13 goals, a result of his willingness to shoot the puck.

Bennett has been firing the puck at will, which has fueled his scoring outburst this postseason. He leads the Florida Panthers in shot attempts per 60 minutes, with many of those hitting the net.
Subsequently, Bennett also leads the team in shots on goal per 60 minutes. While it remains to be seen whether these shots will continue to get past goaltender Stuart Skinner, they're likely to keep coming.
Benny has recorded five or more shots in two of the past three games, averaging four per outing over that stretch. This has also been a competitive series, with three overtimes through the first two games. Another extended meeting would certainly benefit this pick.
Even if Game 3 doesn’t go to overtime, Edmonton surrendered 30 shots on net in regulation on Friday.

Bennett’s linemate, Matthew Tkachuk, is also a good candidate to target in the same market. If their line controls possession while on the ice, both could rack up shots quickly.
Like Bennett, Tkachuk hasn’t hesitated to shoot the puck this postseason, ranking fifth on the Panthers in shot attempts per 60 minutes.
Many of those attempts haven’t hit the net due to factors like blocks and misses, presenting a good buy-low opportunity for Tkachuk, who will keep shooting and should eventually see more of those pucks reach Skinner.
Sticking with the trend of Bennett’s line controlling play, Florida will continue to spend more time in the offensive zone and punish the Oilers.
Goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky is also a safer candidate to back than Skinner in a matchup between two otherwise closely matched teams.
