Our best NHL player props for Tuesday, March 17
Take a look at our best bets and expert analysis below.
Prop #1: Matthew Knies Over 0.5 assists
With Auston Matthews out, Matthew Knies’ importance to the Toronto Maple Leafs will increase in the last month of the season.
He’s having a nice campaign overall, scoring 18 goals and registering 39 assists. The 23-year-old has hit the Over in helpers in two of his last three, and during that span, Knies has four assists.
While the New York Islanders are one of the better defensive teams in the league with Ilya Sorokin in between the posts, they conceded four to Toronto back in January. Knies typically plays with some of the Leafs’ top producers, including John Tavares and William Nylander.
He’s also notched six assists in only eight games in March.

Prop #2: Macklin Celebrini Over 0.5 assists
Macklin Celebrini has put the league on notice this season, becoming one of the best players in the world. The youngster ranks sixth in the NHL in assists, handing out 60. He’s a tremendous playmaker, and, rarely, he doesn’t get in on the action for the San Jose Sharks.
The former No. 1 overall pick has hit the Over in helpers in three consecutive appearances, grabbing an assist in each contest. He'll face the Edmonton Oilers tonight, who have a leaky net. They’re 27th in goals allowed.
He’s already made some noise against the Oilers this season as well, notching a goal and an assist across two meetings. When San Jose does damage offensively, Celebrini is typically involved, and I suspect this offense will be busy tonight.

Prop #3: Nick Suzuki anytime goalscorer
Nick Suzuki is red hot right now. The Montreal Canadiens captain has found the back of the net in back-to-back games, taking his season total to 23 goals. Across seven outings in March, Suzuki has netted four times.
The Habs take on the Boston Bruins tonight, and Suzuki has already scored against them this season. Boston allows 29.9 SOG per game, which is 29th in the league, and they’re giving up 3.1 goals per night; that’s 18th. Chances will be there for Suzuki.
Plus, he’s always playing heavy minutes, and his last two goals have both come at the Bell Centre.
