Our best NHL player props for Tuesday, December 9
Take a look at our best bets and expert analysis below.
Prop #1: Trevor Zegras Over 2.5 shots on goal
With the San Jose Sharks allowing the second-most shots per game (31.4) and ranking last in Corsi For percentage at 5-on-5, this is a great spot for Philadelphia Flyers winger Trevor Zegras to continue padding the shots column.
He’s quickly becoming a go-to star in Philly and has three or more shots in four of his past five home games for a team-high 20 total on 33 attempts.
I also value Zegras' pacing the Flyers in shots and attempts per 60 minutes on the man advantage, given that San Jose averages the third-most shorthanded ice time per game.

Prop #2: Mitch Marner Over 1.5 shots on goal
Vegas Golden Knights winger Mitch Marner has recorded two or more shots in 16 of 28 games, and he’s been skating on a sneaky line at five-on-five with center Brett Howden and winger Mark Stone.
The trio have primarily played together through six games since Stone has returned to the lineup, and they’ve clicked to the tune of a dominant 63.6 Corsi For percentage and 71.2% shot share at 5-on-5 while also generating 72.6% of the expected goals.
Of course, the New York Islanders rank below average in both CF% and shot share at 5-on-5 while allowing a healthy 27.7 shots per game.

Prop #3: Connor McDavid Over 1.5 points
Edmonton Oilers superstar Connor McDavid has recorded multiple points in six of 12 home games this season, and he lands in a cushy matchup Tuesday.
The Buffalo Sabres are 2-9-2 on the highway this season, and the Sabres have dropped the first three stops of their current six-game road trip while allowing 16 total goals.
I also value McDavid pacing the NHL with 5.18 points per 60 minutes at home over the prior three years while averaging 1.92 per game.
