David Pastrnak is consistently one of the most efficient scorers in the league, but he’s mired in a bit of a slump.
However, Pastrnak is in a good spot to get back on track Sunday, which is why he’s a priority target in my three NHL player props for November 23.

Our best NHL player props for Sunday, November 23
Take a look at our best bets and expert analysis below.
Prop #1: Cale Makar Over 2.5 shots on goal
Cale Makar consistently generates more volume at home than on the road but this is a matchup where it shouldn’t much matter.
The Blackhawks have played at the league’s fifth fastest pace over the last 10 games. They rank 30th in shot suppression during that span while giving up more shots to defensemen than all but the Maple Leafs.
They play fast, they struggle to defend, and defensemen are consistently able to activate and make things happen offensively. They should help create the perfect environment for Makar to flourish.
Not to mention, a chunk of Makar’s road Unders came against quality shot-suppression teams and/or playoff bound sides like Utah, New Jersey, and Vegas.
The Blackhawks are nowhere close to the caliber of any of those teams on the defensive side of the puck.

Prop #2: Sean Walker Over 2.5 shots on goal
The Hurricanes are an excellent possession-based side that likes to wear teams down, go low to high, and spray shots towards the net while creating chaos in front.
They should have a ton of opportunities to do just that on Sunday afternoon. The Sabres rank 26th in 5-on-5 shot share and have given up the fourth-most shots to defensemen over the past 10 games.
Sean Walker should be a beneficiary of the matchup. The veteran blueliner has averaged 2.5 shots on seven attempts per game this season.
He’s been most prolific on the road, where he’s averaged three shots on goal and gone Over this line in nine of 12 games.
Taking it a step further, he has recorded 3+ shots in seven of eight road games following a day of rest.

Prop #3: David Pastrnak anytime goal
David Pastrnak is a ticking time bomb. He enters this contest amid a four-game goal drought, which is very rare for a sniper of his caliber.
Only once since last December has Pastrnak gone more than four in a row without scoring. It just doesn’t happen very often.
He has continued to pile up opportunities during this quiet spell, leading the Bruins in shot attempts, scoring chances, Grade A chances, and expected goals. They just haven’t found the net.
He is in a good spot to change that Sunday night. While the Sharks have definitely improved, they rank 21st in goals against and 30th in shots against this season.
They are not exactly a stout defensive team, and that shouldn’t change in the latter half of a back-to-back.
