Our best NHL player props for Sunday, November 2
Take a look at our best bets and expert analysis below.
Prop #1: Dylan Larkin anytime goalscorer
The Detroit Red Wings have been rebuilding for a decade now, and this may finally be the year they get back into the postseason. Detroit sits second in the Atlantic Division and is the biggest favorite on the ice tonight at -180 against the San Jose Sharks.
Like his Red Wings, Dylan Larkin is also off to a hot start. The captain has a team-leading eight goals and 17 points in just 12 games while scoring on 24.2% of his shots.
I particularly like Larkin’s chances of scoring against the Sharks, who are an exciting young team that’s still learning to play defense.
San Jose ranks tied for last in the league in goals against per game (4.17), third-to-last in shots against per game (31.6), and third-to-last in penalty kill percentage (65.8%).
Larkin has scored three of his eight goals on the man advantage, so this is a good matchup for the Wings captain.

Prop #2: Zach Werenski Over 0.5 assists
The Columbus Blue Jackets are another one of last season’s non-playoff teams off to a solid start, and it’s no surprise Zach Werenski is the one leading the offense from the defense.
Werenski has 10 points in 11 games and an impressive +9 rating over that span. The Blue Jackets blueliner enters Sunday on a three-game multi-point streak, scoring a goal and an assist in each of those contests.
The Blue Jackets face off against the New York Islanders this afternoon — the last place team in the Metropolitan Division. New York has allowed 3.55 goals against per game, while Columbus has averaged 4.50 gpg over its current four-game win streak.
Look for the Jackets to score a few goals as Werenski gets in on the action.

Prop #3: Dawson Mercer anytime goalscorer
The New Jersey Devils enter play as a slight -125 favorite against the Anaheim Ducks tonight, and I think the oddsmakers have got this one wrong.
New Jersey is 9-3-0, tied for the best record in the NHL, and I think it’ll prove the difference between a contender and a pretender tonight.
Dawson Mercer’s odds for an anytime goal also seem a bit underpriced at +220.
The Devils forward comes into Sunday on a three-game goal streak with five tallies over that span. His eight goals also rank second on the team behind only Jack Hughes (nine).
Mercer is shooting a scorching hot 34.8% right now — a number that will obviously come down. But for now, I’ve got to ride with the hot hand.
