Best NHL Player Prop Bets Today, April 21: Byfield Back for Revenge

Inglis' predictions: Quinton Byfield gets revenge against an Oilers team that put him briefly on the shelf. Meanwhile, Lehkonen and Iafallo pay off in high-usage situations.

It’s Day 3 of the NHL playoffs and some teams are playing their series openers while two are already on Game 2. Favorites are undefeated and have covered the puck line in all six games while the Over is also 5-1. Scoring is not down and that bodes well for more NHL player props.

These are my three favorite NHL player props for Monday, April 21.

Best NHL player prop bets for April 21

Artturi Lehkonen Over 0.5 points (+125 at Sports Interaction)

It's an easy call here playing with Nathan MacKinnon and Martin Necas on the top line. This line dominated with an 88% xGoal% in Game 1, which is impressive, as the Dallas Stars had the last change as the home team. Arturri Lehkonen finished the game with a goal and two shots with over 18 minutes of ice time.

The Stars are weak on the blueline and Jake Oettinger is battling his playoff demons. It took the Avs a little while to get the offense going on Saturday as they had been off for five days, but they got their legs and this top line is finding the score sheet tonight.

Quinton Byfield Over 0.5 points (+100 at Sports Interaction)

The Los Angeles Kings are rolling with a five-forward PP1 unit and that means Quinton Byfield is getting top minutes with the big boys. He is also playing with Kevin Fiala on the second line, which means some good matchups vs. a bad Edmonton Oilers blueline at home.

Byfield took a crosscheck to the head from greaseball Darnell Nurse late in the regular season but the LA forward played in the season finale and will look to burn the Oilers tonight on the score sheet.

Before the injury that got Nurse suspended, Byfield had 10 points in eight games and was skating almost 19 minutes per game. He has the form, opportunities, and revenge angle all behind him tonight.

Alex Iafallo Over 0.5 points (-105 at Sports Interaction)

Here is a top-line winger who also plays on the first power play. This is always a mispriced situation. This should be -140 at minimum.

Alex Iafallo played a whopping 21:30 in Game 1 and had a goal with three shots and a plus-two rating. His line with Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor took over the game at 5-on-5 and on the PP.

Iafallo played a big physical role and was engaged for the series opener getting rewarded with a massive jump in ice time. The Winnipeg Jets offense should continue to get chances today vs. the St. Louis Blues in a game I’ve bet the Over 5.5 at plus money. How is Iafallo -105 for a point but his linemates at both 5-on-5 and PP1 have point prop totals of 1.5?
