Our best NHL player props for Monday, October 27

Take a look at our best bets and expert analysis below.

Prop #1: Jimmy Snuggerud Over 1.5 shots on goal

-135 at BET99

The Pittsburgh Penguins have allowed the fourth-most shots per game and have the sixth-worst Corsi For percentage at 5-on-5, so this is a good matchup for St. Louis Blues winger Jimmy Snuggerud

He’s pacing the Blues in shots (18) despite averaging just 14:03 of ice time per game. Snuggerud is too good to be logging such limited minutes, and he skated on the No. 1 line last time out, so I’m anticipating an expanded role continuing tonight and moving forward.

Prop #2: Leevi Merilainen Over 22.5 saves

-105 at BET99

The Boston Bruins are averaging 27.5 shots per game, and I don’t think the Ottawa Senators can maintain allowing just 24.7 per night moving forward.

Sens backup Leevi Merilainen had a disastrous start in his season debut, but he was solid in limited action last season with a .925 save percentage, 1.99 GAA, and 5.65 goals saved above expected across 12 appearances.

I’m expecting him to rebound and have a tidy outing against the Bruins tonight.

Prop #3: David Pastrnak Over 3.5 shots on goal

+100 at BET99

Because the Ottawa Senators have allowed the fewest shot attempts per 60 minutes at 5-on-5 and third-fewest shots per game, we’re landing a great number on Boston Bruins star David Pastrnak in this market.

He’s recorded four or more shots in six of his past eight games and is the go-to shooter on the No. 1 power-play unit. Of course, Pastrnak also ranks fifth in shot attempts per 60 minutes to start the season.
