Nikolaj Ehlers started the season slowly but has since caught fire and become one of the most consistent contributors in the NHL.
He is slated to take on his former team Friday night, which is why he headlines my three NHL player props for November 21.

Our best NHL player props for Friday, November 21
Take a look at our best bets and expert analysis below.
Prop #1: Rasmus Dahlin Over 2.5 shots on goal
Rasmus Dahlin has averaged 2.8 shots per game and cleared this line in eight of 12 at home. Most of his Unders came against lower-event opponents that limit shots effectively like the Capitals and Mammoth.
The Blackhawks certainly don’t fit that criteria. They have averaged more than 32 shots against and sit fifth in pace over the past 10 games.
A lot of the volume conceded comes from defensemen, which has been a common theme all season long. They rank dead-last in shot suppression vs. the position.
With a rested Dahlin in a pace-up spot against a team that bleeds shots to blueliners, he should have an abundance of opportunities to shoot the puck in this matchup.

Prop #2: Bryan Rust Over 2.5 shots on goal
Bryan Rust has very drastic home/road splits. He’s only recorded 3+ shots in three of 10 away games, one of which was a neutral site contest in Sweden.
He has cleared in five of six games in Pittsburgh, only falling short against a structured Los Angeles team that tries to suck a lot of the pace out of games.
Rust should be able to get back on track against the Wild. They rank 29th in 5-on-5 shot suppression and shot share over the past 10 games. Now dealing with injuries to Marco Rossi and Ryan Hartman, things are unlikely to get any better.
Rust leads the Penguins in 5-on-5 shots on goal at home and is the player most likely to benefit from this plus matchup.

Prop #3: Nikolaj Ehlers Over 0.5 points
Nikolaj Ehlers took some time to adjust to playing for a new team, failing to hit the scoresheet in each of his first five games.
He has since taken off, producing at the level expected and then some. He has recorded at least one point in 12 of his last 15 games.
He was recently placed on a line with Logan Stankoven and Jackson Blake, which has absolutely dominated on a nightly basis. Shots on goal are 50-24 Carolina at 5-on-5, with the Hurricanes outscoring the opposition 5-1.
The Jets give up plenty of chances at 5-on-5, and that’s unlikely to change against this line. Ehlers will avoid Winnipeg’s top personnel as more attention will go to the Sebastian Aho line. Ehlers also skates on a top power play that leads the NHL in shots over the past 10.
Not to mention, Ehlers will no doubt have extra pep in his step returning to his old stomping grounds for the first time.
