The Edmonton Oilers' captain has produced at an extremely high rate on the biggest stage, recording five points in just two games.

Let’s take a look at my favorite way to target Connor McDavid's odds in Game 3 with my NHL picks for June 9.

Connor McDavid best bet

Anytime goalscorer (+145 at BET99)

Connor McDavid led all players in scoring chances and expected goals over the first three rounds of the playoffs... and he's picked up where he left off through two games against the Florida Panthers.

McDavid has piled up 12 scoring chances and 1.64 expected goals thus far. While all five of his points have come by way of assist, No. 97 has created plenty of opportunities for himself and threatened the net as often as anybody. He just hasn’t been rewarded.

That's bound to change sooner rather than later. McDavid is the most skilled player in the league, and he's scored more goals than expected consistently throughout his career.

There’s no reason to believe he’ll continue to generate dangerous chances at such a high rate yet have nothing to show for them.

The percentages tell us McDavid’s fortune will turn so long as the chances are there, and now more than ever, he's been the one pulling the trigger on a lot of the shots.

He almost has to at this point. Zach Hyman is already lost for the season, while Ryan Nugent-Hopkins is a game-time decision. RNH will be playing at less than 100% even if he dresses, meaning even more will fall on the shoulders of McDavid — who seems determined to will his team to a Stanley Cup.

Connor McDavid same-game parlay

Connor McDavid anytime goalscorer

Leon Draisaitl Over 0.5 assists

Over 5.5

Leon Draisaitl is piling up the assists on a nightly basis, recording 19 through 18 playoff games, and he's done so with great consistency. Draisaitl has at least one helper in 13 games, good for a 72% success rate.

McDavid and Draisaitl are Batman and Robin, playing together on the No. 1 power play unit and taking plenty of shifts on the same line at 5-on-5.

Despite playing on separate lines in portions of each game, Draisaitl has shared the ice with McDavid more than any other player in that state.

The two have exceptional chemistry and create chances in waves nightly. If McDavid pots his first goal of the series, there’s a good chance Drai gets in on it.

There's been an average of eight goals scored through the first two games, and the expected output is actually even higher based on the volume of chances created.

The Panthers led the league in scoring chances in home games during the regular season, while the Edmonton Oilers ranked No. 1 in high-danger chance share on the road.

Given all the firepower each side possesses, six goals isn’t a high bar to clear.
