It’s the second consecutive spring Edmonton and Dallas will meet in Round 3 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and my Oilers vs. Stars anytime goalscorer props and NHL picks have you covered for the series opener.

  • Oilers Hyman (+235)

Oilers vs Stars anytime goalscorer props for tonight

Connor McDavid anytime goalscorer (+155 at BET99)

Edmonton Oilers star Connor McDavid has generated 4.05 expected goals and recorded 17 high-danger scoring chances at five-on-five with just a single tally this postseason. He’s also titled the ice in his favor with an elite 62.3 Corsi For percentage and second-ranked 65.8 expected goals percentage.

McDavid hasn’t cashed in with the man advantage, either, but he has 0.97 expected goals and a high-danger scoring chance on the power play while logging an average of 3.28 per game up a man.

His 7.0 postseason shooting percentage is way below his 13.3% mark during the regular season, and he also posted a 10.5 SH% while scoring eight goals across 25 games during last year’s playoff run.

Roope Hintz anytime goalscorer (+200 at BET99)

While Dallas Stars center Roope Hintz is second in goals, shots, and individual high-danger scoring chances on the club, he leads in the way in expected goals and has scored five times while primarily playing go-to minutes between countrymen Mikko Rantanen and Mikael Granlund.

The trio have been able to generate a respectable 3.49 goals per 60 minutes at five-on-five during the postseason, including 3.92 on home ice.

I expect head coach Pete DeBoer to look for creative ways to use his last-change advantage to find favorable on-ice matchups for his best line in Game 1, too.

Zach Hyman anytime goalscorer (+235 at BET99)

The Oilers project to open Game 1 with Zach Hyman flanking McDavid in all situations, and the duo have been on the ice for an impressive 5.67 goals per 60 minutes across 35 postseason games the past two years.

Hyman’s been incredibly dangerous through two rounds, too.

His three goals are supported by 4.73 expected goals, 27 high-danger scoring chances and a go-to role on the No. 1 power-play unit.
