Best NBA Player Props Today: Sharpe Torches Grizzlies Perimeter

The Blazers are going through a down year, but no one's looked as bad as the Grizzlies so far this season. Our NBA prop picks for Friday night think Shaedon Sharpe will take full advantage.

The NBA In-Season Tournament is here, and while it will be interesting to see how this new format affects teams and the corresponding NBA odds for the initial action, don’t be surprised if some stars put on a show.

Tonight, we get seven group games to open the tournament, and that means there will be no shortage of NBA player props to dig through. I highlight a pair made three props for a couple of sharp(e)shooters with juicy matchups, plus a points prop for a slumping former All-Star.

Here are my best NBA picks for today’s player props.

NBA player props for November 3

Prop bet #1: Last action Herro

All I see when I watch the Washington Wizards play basketball this season is that clip and now meme from Succession where Logan Roy tells his children, “You are not serious people.”

Jordan Poole & Co. seem to not care too much about putting any effort on the court these days. So, they enter tonight’s In-Season Tournament game against the Miami Heat with a 1-3 record, allowing 126 points or more in all three losses, and their lone win came against the arguably even more pathetic Memphis Grizzlies.

As a result, Washington ranks 28th in defensive rating and 27th in opponent-effective field goal percentage. But their effort seems the most lacking at the perimeter. The Wizards are allowing opponents to attempt a league-high 43.8 3-point shots per game while ranking 26th in opponent 3-point shooting percentage.

Oh, and did I mention they were playing the Miami Heat and some guy named Tyler Herro who is absolutely letting it fly from downtown this season?

Herro is trying to prove this is a breakout season. The 23-year-old is in his fifth season in the league and is attempting to take his game to the next level. Herro's putting up a career-high 26.2 points per game so far this season, hitting 43.2% of his 8.8 attempted threes per game.

Herro has hit four or more threes in three of his last four games. This Wizards team will not be the one that slows him down. We're backing the Tyler Herro odds to go Over this prop.

Prop bet #2: Too much to Randle

Everyone knew that when the Milwaukee Bucks swapped out Jrue Holiday for Damian Lillard the team’s defense would take a step back. I’m just not sure anyone realized that step was all the way back to the stone age.

The Bucks begin their In-Season Tournament tonight when they host the New York Knicks. And while the Knicks have also gotten off to a slow start sitting at 2-3, this roster is certainly able to take advantage of a defense this bad.

It’s almost stunning to say this, but Milwaukee ranks next-to-last in the NBA in defensive rating this season, and dead last in opponent effective field goal percentage. And that’s why this is a great spot to buy low on Julius Randle odds.

The Knicks forward has had a slow shooting start to the season, hitting just 26.7% from the floor. That’s a long way from his career 46.8 shooting percentage. So, there needs to be some positive regression coming for Randle. And the slump hasn’t hurt his confidence, as he's still putting up 15.2 field goal attempts per game and leads the Knicks with 6.2 threes attempted per game.

We just saw the Bucks struggle to contain the likes of Scottie Barnes and Pascal Siakam in their most recent loss. Barnes scored 21 points while going 4-6 from beyond the arc while Siakam put up 26, hitting five of his eight shots from deep. Overall, the Bucks rank 28th in opponent 3-point shooting percentage, allowing them to hit 41%.

If Randle sees some shots go down early in this one he should find his rhythm. I like Randle to hit the Over on his points total, which is sitting at a reasonable 17.5 points.

Julius Randle prop: Over 17.5 points (-115 at bet365)

Prop bet #3: Sharpe play

Between the Ja Morant suspension and injuries to several other key players, the Memphis Grizzlies are down bad. Like, really bad.

Memphis has begun the season 0-5 straight up and the games haven’t really been all that close. The Grizz have lost those five games by an average of 11.4 points per game, resulting in them going 1-4 against the spread.

Basically, nothing is working for the Grizzlies. The offense has been downright awful, and the defense hasn’t been much better. The Grizzlies rank 22nd in defensive rating and 28th in opponent-effective field goal percentage.

But it’s the perimeter defense that has been glaringly bad — to the point of it being non-existent. Memphis is allowing a whopping 41 3-point attempts per game while allowing opponents to hit 43.4% of those attempts. Both of those marks rank next-to-last in the NBA.

Tonight, Memphis plays its first In-Season Tournament game when it visits the Portland Trail Blazers. The Blazers are going through the growing pains of a rebuild but enter this game having won back-to-back games and it sure looks like Shaedon Sharpe odds are ripe for the picking.

Sharpe is leading the Blazers in scoring, putting up 20.2 points per game on 46.1% from the floor. That includes shooting a solid 37.5% on 6.4 3-point attempts per game. And he's heating up, at 11-for-26 (42.3%) over his last four games.

I’m betting Sharpe gets a few more attempts from beyond the arc in this juicy matchup against the Grizz and taking the over on his 3-pointers made prop.

Shaedon Sharpe prop: Over 2.5 made threes (-110 at BetMGM)
