The Baltimore Ravens’ acquisition of two-time All-Pro edge rusher Maxx Crosby helped them significantly in NFL future odds, including their odds to win the Super Bowl.
Crosby, a perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate with the Las Vegas Raiders, will now get to team up with two-time MVP Lamar Jackson in new head coach Jesse Minter’s first year in charge.
Key Takeaways
- The Ravens have as high as an 18.2% implied probability to win Super Bowl LXI.
- Crosby is second only to Myles Garrett in odds to win the Defensive Player of the Year.
- Baltimore began every season since 2019 at +2,000 or shorter to win the Super Bowl.

The Ravens went from +1,200 to +1,000 to win Super Bowl LXI at BetMGM once Crosby was confirmed to be on his way to the East Coast. Their shift in odds puts them tied for third, only behind the Los Angeles Rams and the Seattle Seahawks (both +800) and just ahead of the Buffalo Bills (+1,100).
They also moved from +550 to a market-leading +450 (18.2% implied chance) to win the AFC.
According to BetMGM insights shared with Covers, the Ravens were responsible for 20% of all money wagered in the Super Bowl futures market since the trade was made public. They were also the third most-bet team to win the AFC during that same time.
Additionally, the Ravens claimed 57% of tickets to win the AFC North since the trade, coinciding with their odds dropping from -110 to -160. Despite that, the Cleveland Browns – who went 5-12 and finished in last place last year – received a leading 55% of the handle during that period.
DraftKings also noted substantial movement in the Ravens’ futures odds. They dropped from +1,100 to +950, the shortest odds of all major sportsbooks.
At Caesars, Baltimore moved from +1,400 to +1,000 to win the Super Bowl, and from +550 to +450 to win the AFC.

The Ravens’ best shot at a Super Bowl?
The Ravens entered Week 1 at +700 odds to win the Super Bowl just last year, according to SportsOddsHistory. They were also +1,000 entering 2024 and haven’t been longer than +2,000 in preseason Super Bowl odds since 2019.
Despite continually being among the NFL’s heavyweights, Flock Nation hasn’t made the Super Bowl since its 2012 championship season under Joe Flacco and the recently dismissed John Harbaugh.
It also failed to make the playoffs last year, finishing 8-9 as Jackson was held out of four games.
Crosby, who is as low as +650 (second) in Defensive Player of the Year odds at DraftKings, is aiming to change that.
The 28-year-old pass-rusher will slot into a new-look defense led by Minter and defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver.
Minter spent the last two years working as the Los Angeles Chargers’ defensive coordinator, leading them to seasons ranking second and eighth in points allowed per game. Weaver was the Miami Dolphins’ defensive coordinator during that time and took turns as the Ravens’ defensive line coach, run game coordinator, and assistant head coach the three seasons before that.
Super Bowl odds frenzy
With the Crosby trade still pending ratification at the beginning of the NFL’s new league year on March 11, the Super Bowl odds board is still changing rapidly.
The opening of the legal tampering period on Monday allowed teams to communicate with impending free agents and their representation. Contracts are allowed to be agreed upon, although they cannot be signed until Wednesday.
