Game developer Incentive Games has been awarded a license to operate in Ontario by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (ACGO). Before receiving its license, the company had to pass the strict security tests of AGCO and its associated regulator, iGaming Ontario.
Key Takeaways
- Incentive Games has received a license to provide games in Ontario.
- The company will supply real money games through Incentive Studios.
- The launch comes shortly after the company entered North America through Michigan.
The company will distribute real-money games through its Incentive Studios branch. It distributes titles through partnerships with prominent companies like Aristocrat Interactive and Light & Wonder.
“Ontario represents a huge opportunity for us, and securing this license is a proud moment for the whole team. It reinforces our dedication to meeting the highest standards while delivering compelling real-money content. We're looking forward to building strong relationships in the region and continuing our momentum across regulated markets worldwide,” said John Gordon, Chief Executive Officer at Incentive Games.
The move comes a little under a month after Incentive Games secured its entry into Michigan, its first iGaming launch in North America. The announcement of Incentive Games’ entry into Ontario described North America as a “strategic focus” for the company.
Incentive Games impact increases after bet365 partnerships
While Incentive Games may be venturing into the North American iGaming market for the first time, it’s not the first time the company has worked in these jurisdictions. Incentive Games signed a deal with bet365 to create Prize Matcher, a free-to-play game available for players in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
The game allows players to enjoy a prize draw with the chance to earn immediate prizes through the diamond symbol. Other players must match prize symbols to collect a prize. The promotion ran from April 7, 2025, to July 28.
That wasn’t the only product of bet365’s partnership with Incentive Games. The companies launched the Group Stage predictor in June 2024 ahead of the UEFA 2024 Euros and the Copa America. The game allowed players to predict the group stages of these tournaments for free, including results.
The competition's winners who predicted the most games and group stage positions earned a portion of the prize pool. Any player who correctly predicted every outcome was offered a jackpot prize of $1 million.
Incentive Games has had an eye on the North American market for a while, and with market entry deals in Michigan and Ontario, is looking to make a name for itself in these new frontiers.
