New York Giants duo Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo both surged in NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year odds following the G-Men’s 34-17 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday.

Dart is as low as +150 at FanDuel Sportsbook, while Skattebo is down to +1300 at BetMGM Sportsbook.

Key Takeaways

  • Dart went from 12.5% to 40% implied probability to win the award at FanDuel.

  • Skattebo joined a group of contenders shorter than +2000 after being far behind.

  • Emeka Egbuka is still the favorite or co-favorite at every major sportsbook.

Just a few days ago, Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Emeka Egbuka had a stranglehold on the award market, boasting +105 odds at FanDuel. Dart was at +700, and Skattebo was far behind at +3500.

It only took one game for the odds to be thrown for a loop.

Despite entering the game as 7.5-point underdogs, and only having one win on their resume, the Giants pulled ahead to an early 13-3 lead. They went on to shut out the Eagles during the entire second half and forced Jalen Hurts into his first interception of the season.

Dart, making the third start of his career, went 17/25 for 195 yards passing, 58 yards rushing, and two total touchdowns. Skattebo, on the other hand, took 19 carries for 98 yards (5.2 yards per carry) and three touchdowns.

Using the implied probability of FanDuel’s odds, Dart went from a 12.5% to 40% likelihood to win the NFL OROTY trophy. Skattebo went from 2.8% to 5.3%.

Odds movement (per FanDuel)
Jaxson Dart: +700 to +150
Cam Skattebo: +3500 to +1800

ROTY race takes shape

Giants players have twice been the recipients of the OROTY trophy: Saquon Barkley in 2018 and Odell Beckham Jr. in 2014.

Quarterbacks have also won four of the last six OROTY trophies, including Jayden Daniels and C.J. Stroud each of the last two seasons. However, running backs won the award in four of six years just before that.

Despite the TNF-induced fluctuation in Offensive Rookie of the Year odds, Bucs WR Egbuka is still the favorite at every major sportsbook. Only FanDuel has him as a co-favorite with Dart at +150, and he’s as low as -110 (52.4% implied probability) at DraftKings.

Las Vegas Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty is third and as low as +400 at DraftKings (but up to +1000 at FanDuel).

Indianapolis Colts tight end Tyler Warren, Carolina Panthers WR Tetairoa McMillan, and Cleveland Browns RB Quinshon Judkins are the remaining players with odds below +2000.

Impact on division and NFC races

The Giants’ victory didn’t just alter the race for the Rookie of the Year trophy. It dropped the Eagles to +500 to win the NFC and -125 to win the NFC East.

If the Washington Commanders (-4.5) beat the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football, they will overtake the Eagles for the NFC East lead based on their record against the division and common opponents.

Entering last Sunday’s matchup with the Broncos, the Eagles had won 20 straight games that Jalen Hurts started and finished. They are 0-2 since then.
