PENN Entertainment, operator of ESPN BET, has announced a new multiyear sports betting partnership with the PGA of America that makes ESPN BET the official sports betting sponsor of the PGA Championship through 2026.

This announcement comes just a few days ahead of the 2024 PGA Championship, which will be held at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky for the second major of the PGA Tour season. ESPN BET is already a licensed online sportsbook operator in North Carolina and Pennsylvania, which are the states hosting the 2025 and 2026 PGA Championship.

Partnership details

The PGA Championship is the first men’s golf major to form a partnership with an official sports betting sponsor like ESPN BET. Launched in November 2023, ESPN BET online sportsbook utilizes PENN Entertainment’s proprietary technology, along with ESPN’s influence and reach in the sports industry, to quickly become one of the most popular mobile sports betting apps in legal sports betting states.

PGA of America Chief Commercial Officer, Jeff Price, released a statement on their partnership with PENN Entertainment.

“We are incredibly proud to partner with PENN Entertainment and immerse ESPN BET into the spectator experience throughout the PGA Championship. The added onsite presence of ESPN BET as well as broadcast and content offerings will provide spectators with exciting new ways to enjoy and engage with all of the action during the PGA Championship.”

ESPN BET will make its presence felt on-site, online, and via broadcast during the 2024 PGA Championship. At Valhalla’s 13th hole, fans with a registered ESPN BET online sportsbook account can gain entry to the ESPN BET Members Lounge. Drinks, food, a VR simulator of the 13th hole, and a great view of the 13th hole green are just some of the amenities afforded to attendees.

Vice President of Operations at PENN Interactive, Jason Birney, stated, “We’re pleased to be the PGA of America’s first-ever gaming partner and align ESPN BET with this prestigious men’s golf major. We look forward to accessing highly engaging touchpoints to bring ESPN BET onto the course and into the PGA Championship broadcast on ESPN. With the PGA Championship set to take place in states where ESPN BET operators through 2026, this partnership provides us with a great opportunity to interact with and engage golf fans.”

ESPN BET odds and betting insights will be featured on ESPN network broadcasts for fans at home to enjoy during the four rounds at the 2024 PGA Championship. This includes PGA Championship sports betting offers for ESPN BET customers to claim before Thursday’s opening round, as well as during play at Valhalla Golf Club.
