DraftKings Sportsbook’s “Ghost Leg” was a big success for parlay bettors during the NFL’s Week 1, and there’s one more chance for customers to take advantage of the unique promotion.

Key Takeaways

  • More than 160,000 customers avoided losses

  • The promotion is still active through Week 2

  • Bettors must use cash or DK Dollars to apply the promotion

The online sports betting operator said 160,500 customers avoided losses and hit on their parlay, same game parlay, or same game parlay extra bets over the weekend. The promotion allows bettors to lose one of at least a three-leg parlay and still get paid out by the odds of the remaining legs.

This isn’t a season-long promotion, though. DraftKings confirmed with Covers that the promotion will continue through Week 2. The promotion is currently active, and bettors can take advantage of it until the start of the Sunday night game between the Atlanta Falcons and Minnesota Vikings.

Nice hits

Ghost Leg potentially kept bettors in at least eight games where spreads were decided by three points or less from suffering bad beats. There were also a few close lines that turned out to be blowouts, like the Colts’ win over the Dolphins.

One DraftKings customer lost one of the legs by a half point when the Bills won 41-40 on Sunday night, but the Ghost Leg promotion turned the parlay into a $1,194 net profit. The odds were lowered from +2,464.

DraftKings customers also took advantage of the promotion on player prop parlays.

How to play

Bettors can opt-in to Ghost Leg on pre-game and live parlays as long as the odds carry -500 or longer, according to DraftKings’ official rules. Those multi-leg bets this week must still combine three wagers.

There are maximum stakes allowed, and the parlay can’t exceed odds of +20,000. Bettors must use cash or DK Dollars to apply the promotion. Bonus bets are not permitted to purchase the Ghost Leg token.

If any voided legs make the wager ineligible, the Ghost Leg token will be refunded. If the voided led doesn’t affect eligibility, the token will still be applied to the wager.
