With the MLB postseason beginning on Tuesday, Caesars is offering a $500,000 progressive jackpot for all of its customers.

The half-a-million-dollar prize was reached after there were zero no-hitters recorded during the entire MLB regular season.

Key Takeaways

  • Caesars’ jackpot opened at $25,000 in the first week of the season

  • There were three individual and one combined no-hitter in each of the last two seasons

  • There have only been three no-hitters in league history, the last of which was combined and occurred in 2022

The Fastball Fortune progressive jackpot began at $25,000 at the start of the 2025 MLB season and increased by $25,000 for every week that passed without a no-hitter.

This ended up being the first year since 2005 that no pitcher in the league achieved the famed accolade, awarded to players who play an entire game without allowing a single hit. Now, with the postseason set to begin more than six months later, the prize is up to an eye-watering $500,000.

There have only been three no-hitters in MLB postseason history. Those belong to New York Yankees pitcher Don Larsen (1956), Philadelphia Phillies ace Roy Halladay (2010), and a combination of the Houston Astros’ Cristian Javier, Bryan Abreu, Rafael Montero and Ryan Pressly (2022).

Three pitchers, Dylan Cease, Blake Snell, and Ronel Blanco, produced no-hitters last year, while Shota Imanaga, Nate Pearson and Porter Hodge produced a combined no-hitter for the Chicago Cubs.

There were also three no-hitters and one combined no-hitter in 2023.

No-hitter opportunities and Game 1 pitching

Caesars’ Fastball Fortune jackpot will continue to increase by $25,000 during every week of the postseason where a no-hitter is not produced. Game 7 of the World Series (if necessary) is scheduled for Nov. 1, which would mean another four weeks and another $100,000 worth of prizes that could be added to the total.

If a no-hitter occurs, Caesars customers can win a share of the jackpot by placing a qualifying MLB parlay bet during the week. Qualifying wagers include parlays for at least $5 with a minimum of three legs at +400 odds or greater. A maximum of 25 entries is allowed per customer.

Many of the league’s best pitchers will be in action on Tuesday night. If bettors have luck on their side, they will be able to split the $500,000 jackpot.

Snell, who had a no-hitter last year, will be on the mound for the Los Angeles Dodgers against the Cincinnati Reds’ Hunter Greene, who had a 2.76 ERA.

The winningest Garrett Crochet, and joint-second-winningest pitcher in the league, Max Fried, will also be on the bump for the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees. The pair had ERAs of 2.59 and 2.86.

Tarik Skubal, who had the second-lowest ERA this year (2.21), will lead the Detroit Tigers against the Cleveland Guardians and Gavin Williams (3.06 ERA).

Finally, Nick Pivetta (2.87 ERA) and Matthew Boyd (3.21 ERA) will headline the San Diego Padres’ Game 1 matchup with the Chicago Cubs.

Caesars’ World Series odds

If Caesars’ World Series odds are indicative, the Phillies (+425) are just about one month away from being crowned the best team in baseball. The Seattle Mariners (+450) and Los Angeles Dodgers (+500) are close behind in betting odds.

The New York Yankees (+725) lead the group of second-tier contenders, followed by the Milwaukee Brewers (+800) and Toronto Blue Jays (+800).

Remaining competitors include the Padres (+1200), Cubs (+1400), Red Sox (+2000), Guardians (+2000), Detroit Tigers (+2000), and the Reds (+2800).
